Ben is talking as though it is impossible to judge how Ipswich will do next year. As long as they sign a Hirst level or better striker (which I’m sure they will) Ipswich will almost certainly be top 10. You can see they are a good side just by watching them.

10:50 Rich asks where McKenna sits in the manager lexicon but Ben doesn’t even get as far as giving “an opinion”.
After going around the houses at 12:25 the answer seems to be “if he does badly his stock falls is he does well his stock rises” as though each scenario is equally plausible. It doesn’t take account of the fact that you only have to have watched Ipswich (vs Burnley for example) to see that the strong likelihood is that they will do very well indeed.
Rich even acknowledges the prevarication at 14:10.

My experience in these situations is that when I try and tell the commenter that my opinion is not what they're telling me it is, they're so entrenched in their commitment to not being 'wrong' that the conversation goes nowhere.

McKenna has loads of promise but let’s be honest, he has spent a huge amount on wages and fees last season so the success he had was proportionate to the resources he had. And let’s not forget things looked bad in January when his squad looked jaded and was faltering. The four additions in Jan made the difference. Whereas the Plymouth manager had no money and won the league.
So let’s not get carried away. The club is back where it was four years ago and he’s done nothing yet in the championship. Let’s see where we are in December this season.
Some of the hype surrounding McKenna is baffling.There was no way that celtic were going to hire someone who has under two seasons of experience at club management, and that's in the third tier. The Championship will present new challenges and Town's league position at Christmas will be interesting.
@@geoffpoole483 I agree. He struggled at times with league one and around Christmas the side was in trouble, it was only via serious money being made available that he managed to get the run going. That said, he clearly has huge ability and potential.
