This ironically explained to me what pitch means in robotics. My professor kept talking about a twist motion "pitch" which I didn't follow, but now I assume it's a full rotation around the axis expressed in the linear displacement from beginning to end.
That's right, linear displacement in this context. In other contexts the same word 'pitch' is used to indicate an angle expressed as transverse displacement in relation to a reference longitudinal displacement. And then there are ball games :)
