Notable Trees of the African Bush E15: The Quiver Tree/Aloidendron dichotoma

- Namibia is Plant Hunter paradise! Its unique geology and climate make for some very unusual plants, one of the most spectacular of which is this, the Quiver tree. So called because of a traditional San use of the tree (the clue is in the name!), but most visually noticeable because of the way to the branches continually split into two. I shot this video at the National Botanic Garden in Windhoek, which I highly recommend as a very worthwhile destination for visitors to Namibia!

The Hunter is back!
Yeah, sorry, been a bit silent, busy with a few new projects. But I'm definitely back!
YESS YOUR BACKK BEEN SO LONG
I know, I'm sorry. I'm back, I promise!
Hello Gus, this is one of my favorite trees, I have some Aloe bonsai that are inspired by the Quiver tree!! If you are ever in Freetown, the capitol of Sierra Leone, there is a very famous Cotton tree in the middle of the city. It is massive and I'd love to see it up close!!
Hey, thanks for this! I'd love to visit Freetown. If I do, I'll be sure to check this out!
