So excited! I love the comics! I love the Black Knight! And Kit Harington as Black Knight is GREAT for a lot of reasons... He is an accomplished actor with the chops to handle emotional scenes, (Testament of Youth, The Death and Life of John F Donovan, Gunpowder, his work in the stage in London, Dr.Faustus, True West, last year...) he is amazing in action scenes (I mean Kit with sword (Ebony Blade) fighting, his sense of humor (Saturday Night Live, 7 Days in Hell) Everything! Thanks Marvel! Can't wait!!!
I'm soooooooo very excited and hyped for Kit Harrington's Black Knight because he can do Game of Thrones, he can do it a Marvel character as well.
I hope Marvel puts out a collection of a lot of the Black Knight's solo outings and a "Best of" from his various runs in the Avengers.

He was in the main Avengers team since early 1980s, he even led them at one point. He was never in the West Coast Avengers. (Ultimate Comics dont count. Ultimate Universe is dead and doesn't count. Nobody refers to it.)

A skilled athlete, warrior, and scientist (standard comic scientist skilled in a wide variety of fields), Dane's used a variety of weapons and steeds ranging from next-gen tech to old magic, all centered around a Midievil Knight theme. The Ebony Blade which he uses most was crafted out of a meteor rock by Merlin, the blade turned black and cursed due to all the blood spilled by it in battle, eventually passing its bloodlust on to its wielder. Whitman has tried distancing himself from the blade on multiple occasions but it keeps coming back

0:01 Why does he have a Lightsaber? Is the saber from an alternate universe? Or maybe this Black Knight accidentally travelled to the Star Wars universe and took a lightsaber without knowing what it was and then came back! I think this would make a cool comic!
Long story short, it is stated that the Ebony blade has a tendency of driving its wielder mad and causing him to go on a bloodshed rampage. So in an attempt to not let that happen to him, he made that.
