Good to see that people get to see these planes at air shows so they know there is so much more than just fighter jets to air shows and that's not all the Air Force has.
My Dad was a research engineer for Lockheed for 35 years. He worked on the C-5 project during its development. I have a picture in my house of the first C-5 flight. All the guys that worked on it are pictured below it and all of the test pilots signed the picture. He worked at some point on the SR-71, the STOL version of the C-130 (and other models) and the F-117 right before he retired. He never told us what he was involved in while working on the F-117. Lockheed was very strict In those days. After the Air Force acknowledged they used the 117 in Panama, he told us that’s what he’d been involved in the last several years. He was very proud of what that company accomplished.
awesome! my dad ran the c-17 program at douglas in long beach- 1992-1997 Bob Vose- they were way behind in production and my dad brought the production to date..Or so I am told..Was on the tarmac for P1 as they ran over Catalina when LB said no- but they finally let it happen- hmmm
As Rescue Crew Chief needed to initiate a very rare slide deployment from Aft Troop Deck during Desert Storm during ground emergency in early 80s! Aircraft entered the blocks and declared hot brakes Rambo and his friends (locked and loaded) in the rear didn't hesitate when the hatch was opened and slide was deployed. Load Master working aft troop deck didn't think it was a cool idea but able to get him out of the way to ensure the troops were safe. Amazing aircraft and Dover also made a one of a kind Egress Video after the incident at Travis Landed directly over the trailer park...
I think you meant early 90’s. Desert Shield was 90 until Jan 91. Then it became Desert Storm. Our BN rode on multiple C-5’s with our Apaches and vehicles packed inside. Took either 4 or 5 C-5’s to get us all there. The C-5 could haul a lot more than what we put on there. My Dad was so proud when I told him we were deploying in C-5’s. Magnificent aircraft!
They are huge! Not as loud anymore…my dad retired from the 104th FW 26yrs total AF..we lived on Westover from 80-96 my dad was f/t AGR when the A-10As came…they are all gone now ..they have F-15s now ..going to F-35A….Westover has on 8 C-5Ms…such a huge base..when we lived there in the 80s there were alot of fighter jets that would come and go back then..also huge AirShows..none now!
I will never understand loud music at an airshow. I go to hear and watch jets, not some stupid ass loud as hell music. Also that guy talks too much. Footage is awesome though.
God, if there is anything that infuriates me more is the damn talking and crap music that they feel they have to do and play! I want to hear the damn awesomeness of the plane! Not some dude yapping shit and again, crap music! Stop it! PLEASE!

Brutal me encanta
Es BRUTAL LOS DOS
Estoy de acuerdo
Yeahhhh
The new Rapid Dragon delivery system will make these aircraft giant sized bombers in the future.
Nice comparison video. Aesthetically the C-17 looks silly and oddly proportioned. The C5 is a much better looking airplane.
Global reach!
Sorry guys/gals, the galaxy stole that show!!!!! of-coarse i love me some C-17 as well!
The C-5 would be a midget next to San AN-225. Too bad they don't exist anymore.
I believe the 225 is being rebuilt
I expected barrel rolls and loops .
