And there it is, our thrilling tale is at an end (probably 😅)! Was this a whole lot of nonsense on my part? Yes absolutely. Was this whole ordeal a ridiculous first world problem? Oh of course. Am I okay with it? I mean, yeah I think so. You’ve got to find the humor in your life 😂
I just saw this EXACT Saint Laurent Clutch in this EXACT color on Farfetch...and I think you can get it with 15% off using Sophie's or Charice's discount codes. Good luck...(it's 1:20 AM PST, and I'm looking at it on Farfetch as we speak) hope you're able to get it! 🤞🏼😊👍🏼
Customer service is a difficult job, but if a customer has an issue with an item they purchased, it's the company's obligation to make things right. It's a beautiful clutch and color. 💚
Thank you! I just try to be aware of my tone, even if I’m frustrated. No one likes to be yelled at. I’m glad I decided to keep the clutch it in the end! 😁
So, what most likely happened is that someone bought the green clutch and didn't return the wristlet with the clutch. Then nordstrom, who honestly does not check if all of the extra items are present, will accept the return and resell it. I shop at nordstroms because of the easy return policy, but I have gotten "returned used" luxury items and simply return them because I prefer them brand new. You can tell if something is out of stock and magically 2 months later back in stock that it is in fact a returned item. I saw a 2 year old ysl camera back in an outdated style just last month on nordstroms for 990$ that lasted 1 day on the website before sold. for clothes, I'm okay with having an item that was returned. It is only with designer items in particular that I want brnad new due to the price.
I’ve ordered from them once and my bag got lost from the 3rd party shipper they use. They refunded me and I reached out to the company and they offered to send me the bag for the price Nordstrom sold it to me for. Thank God for good customer service 🙏🏾
I agree! if someone uses the bags not to mention a few months, a few days and return it, it's a used item. It's just not fair the store resale it. It is just not cool to consider using a few months and return as the customer service advise if new color come up. I feel like i do not want to shop at Nordstrom for luxury bags anymore.
It’s interesting to know their policies applies to luxury items too, as I didn’t know that. It’s good to keep in mind, though I agree that I want a new item if I’m expecting a new item!
That looks substantially like the WOC and it’s more versatile too. Now I want to do this for the savings on limited edition colors. Thanks for the tip!
What a saga. I really do like the emerald/jade shade of green, but I'm not willing to go through the same thing! I can't believe I'm saying it but it kinda makes FOMO good, because you don't end up searching for a discontinued colour/piece. On another note, I personally don't think 10% discount is enough for a missing piece. I'm sure (or rather hope?) a bag with a missing strap would be discounted more.
Hahaha, it’s certainly true that for limited edition colors, if you like them, you should go for them! I’ve been trying to buy this bag since last November 😩
I quite enjoy how the clutch looks with the silver strap and how it “doesn’t match.” It gives a more…modern/contemporary vibe! I think it lays on your torso in a great spot and pops SO nicely against your darker shirt. Also, yes please to the comparisons of leather!
I work for Neimans and was about to say OH we do have that color I saw it the other day! But then I checked and it is the WOC :( But if you are ever looking for something at Neimans again, let me know!
I was told to be very cautious when ordering last in stock or display pieces. Following your videos is confirmation that I won’t be doing that from now on. I agree with the commenter to reach out to YSL and see what they say.
I love your determination...lucky I got two YSL clutches from fartech with 15% discount in black and white cream common colors so I don't have any issues. I would do the same thing when I want something I'll hunt it down and will not rest until I can find it 😂.
I’m happy that at the end of the day you were able to get a YSL piece in a color you have wanted for a while, even with the strap limitation. It looks beautiful on you with the silver chain as a crossbody. I would absolutely love to see a video about the pebbled leather quality between brands.
Vintage v Modern lambskin would be fun too! As would vintage and modern caviar 🤩 so many good ideas. I’m definitely going to try to get some videos out on leathers!
Our handbags CAN have a story; they are very personal items to us. I missed your previous video. This clutch has to be one of the most beautiful handbags I’ve ever seen! That green color is to die for! I think I might have seen red by the time I talked to Janice and lost my cool. One thing I have learned to do is to always note the the as well as who I talked to in my records. Enjoy your lovely YSL bag and it is most certainly a keeper.
I feel bad for all the trouble they made you go through. You deserved more than 10% off 😅 To be honest, I like it better with that silver metal strap than the original one. I know you already mentioned YSL wristlet and Chanel WOC can't be really compared but I want to hear honest opinion. Do you think Chanel woc is worth of 3K? It's over 3k after tax 😭 I really want one but afraid that I will regret buying it after a while. 😣
Hahaha, thank you. At least I got it in the end! As for the Chanel WOC (and this would be a great video, I might do that too) I hate doing this but it depends. There are some people who use theirs ALL the time and others where it's an occasion bag. Personally, if you really love it and think you'd wear it a bunch, it's still worth it imo, especially if you want a Chanel bag. However, if you're buying it INSTEAD of a different Chanel (like a mini or something) it might be best to save your money to put toward the more expensive item. But in terms of the WOC in its own, if you use it say for three years, you've essentially paid $1000 a year cost per wear. If you use it once a week for those three years, it's less than $20 a use. It might be silly math, but cost per wear makes me feel better about some expensive purchases, especially ones I know I'll have and love for a long time.
I would keep it too, that color is amazing. You might be able to find a leather worker to make a black/beige/navy wristlet if you prefer it to the chain.
Plot twist: the person who HAS that elusive wristlet strap is watching this video, feels bad, and sends it to you. LOL I'm glad you kept it, even without the leather strap. It's a gorgeous piece and now it has a (sort of) great story with it! :) And I would love to see a comparison of the pebbled leathers, pebbled is my absolute favorite!
what a crazy saga. And wow on your first video I had guessed that this was most likely shipping directly from a store - how Nordstrom stores handle their luxury goods on the floor is insane to me! I’ve seen countless bags with scratches and defects and they’re still selling them! I guess the one pro of buying at Nordstrom is the warranty
Funnily enough I bought my first wristlet couple years ago direct from ysl online in Australia. The wristlet falls off. I was at a restaurant and had my bag on the seat beside me(booth style seating) picked up my bag and didn’t realise the wristlet fell off. Wasn’t till I turned around and saw it. It’s not very secure so I’m now very conscious to keep checking on it as the clasp doesn’t completely lock into the d ring and leaves a small gap
I have this in dark beige. I really like the leather wristlet strap & wouldn't be happy happy without it. However, you're in a conundrum with the colour. Would love to see a video on the differences of pebbled leather:)
Such a frustrating saga to witness! And shame on Janice, that’s just bad customer service. I’m happy that it’s mostly worked out, and when I pop into Rosemont, I’ll check the YSL outlet to see if they ever get any in stock. You never know! 😄
Oh that would be cool! I’d love to know if they had one. I’d love the green of course, but I’m interested in any pops of colors with silver hardware tbh. Card holders, envelope clutch wristlets, even the mini lou. (I’m also hoping to go to Chicago sometime this year since it’s not too far from me.)
I think you handled it well, and I'm sure you were polite. I worked in fast food for 3 years in college. One jerk customer doesn't justify treating another customer badly. I understand if Nordstrom had a policy where they don't give discounts for damaged items, but they need to be consistent. I was chatting with a TJmax employee one day, and they told me how people will purposefully damage the designer bags (take straps, buttons, scratch, etc) so they can ask for a discount. Of course then it ruins it for honest people who receive damaged pieces. I'm sure stores have looked at the stats to determine if it's best to sell items at a discount or simply not be able to sell it (or just keep trying to sell until you find a customer who won't mind missing pieces). It is a very pretty green!!💚
It’s such a shame to hear about that at TJ Maxx but I also can’t say I’m surprised 😔 I also just-why would you want a damaged bag?? Especially one you damaged purposefully? Blech.
@@classicswithaquirk it's ridiculous. My understanding is people would sneak off buttons and straps. Then they have the missing piece to reattach if they can get the bag for a bigger discount. TJMaxx is already discounted, so I'm sure it hit them hard.

Every item is either worn or somehow damaged forcing me to spend way too much time with a customer service rep who doesn’t care. I understand why you kept the YSL. The green is 👌🏼.
Honestly, the suggestion of calling the original place to find the strap isn’t that far fetched. It could’ve just been separated from the bag and misplaced in a drawer or something then found later.
