I really enjoyed this. I’ve watched hundreds of coding videos and they’re all the same. You’re the ONLY most honest and real TH-camr I’ve probably ever stumbled across. I’ve been in a rabbit hole watching a lot of your videos. I’ve honestly been in a dark place lately and this just lifted up my spirits and encouraged me to get back into coding and achieve my goals. Thank you.
Certainly inspired me. From 2018-2021 I fought hard to get a graphic design gig. Came close a few times. Shot for the ground and for the stars, but nothing ever worked out for me. After 3 years of failing and being at my retail job I had to switch it up, and became a very good cook. I love cooking but the older I get the less my body can hang, and I’m trying to get back out in the design game. Today I was having thoughts about the dreaded “what if I just waste another 3 years”, and then I came across this video, and it’s certainly helped put these things into perspective. Thank you for sharing your story. It’s really helped.
thank you for the content you upload! I'm starting on my front end dev journey and honestly I hate most of the videos about it on here but yours is straightforward and real. keep it up!
Literally same story man!! Just moved to LA for music and it kind of flopped and now I'm heading into tech. (been a goal for a few years!) Your vids are helping me set my sights and get there, thanks man!
I have an AAS in IT and have been looking for a job for 3 months now it's so disheartening, but I'm def going to check out more of your videos! I guess the hardest part for me is no work experience in IT. This is a helpful video😊
I know you said you weren't a big LinkedIn user. I got on there just for this transition and I'm constantly seeing folks who were laid-off, who can't find work again. Then I see some lackluster portfolios hired. Seems like a bit of a lottery out there.
Tech is completely dysfunctional at this point. Layoffs are common, job interviews are a nightmare that require hours of prep work, even if you find a job you might just get offshored. And good luck if you're over 45...
Hey Dylan , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your video to reach to a wider audience .
coulda just started and ended the video with "my uncle works in the tech industry" literally the only way to become successful in the US is to have 15 years experience or have great connections, if ur anti social like me, its time to start making a plan to escape this capitalist hellscape
Couldn't disagree more with you. Frankly, my uncle acted as a mentor for me and that's about it. I clawed my way into the industry by making my own connections and having a positive attitude. If you're antisocial, figure out how to be social. The system is unforgiving-sitting around and complaining about it will only make matters worse. Just my two cents.
@ i agree the system is unforgiving, which means weve created a bad system, other countries are a lot more forgiving, i would need to work two full time jobs to earn the equivalent of one full time job in a more socialist leaning country, just my two cents
who else is watching this while on the clock at a job they hate lmao
Me lol 😂
I'm watching at home with no job. Maybe sparking some inspiration to get into a stable career.
@@Jdogg4089 if it helps, I found a couple of entry points into IT since I left that comment. if my dumb ass can do it, I'm sure you can friend ❤️
Me😂
currently working a graveyard shift! yay
