Wow, that actually makes sense! I guess this applies to HeartGold/SoulSilver since the original Gold/Silver/Crystal didn't have ice or snow at Mt. Silver.
I don't know how to describe this properly. Whoever has made this will have my complete artistic respect forever. Thank you very much for having given us such a wonderful work.
There are times in the manga where Yellow can be stronger than all the other dex holders. In the games though it was confirmed that Red is the greatest trainer who ever lived and that he's known as a "Regional Master" meaning he's the master of every region.
G/S/C is Original/Classic Red, which was a playable character in R/G/B/Y. HG/SS is Gen III Red/Remake Red (Commonly known as 'Fire' to prevent confusion). He was playabe in Fire Red and Leaf Green.

I'm 9 years late, but as of emerald he is 16. He is now probably over over 19 because green/blue (choose what language you like to call him) was an adult in X and Y. They do age in the manga, but some events happen at the same time. Like fire red and leaf green happened at the same time as ruby and sapphire. Or omega ruby and alfa sapphire happened at the same time as X and Y.
@Jinxmint Don't confuse Red from the games with Red from PokeSpecial either. He seems more based off of Yellow's main character since he has a Pikachu and all three Kanto starters final evos in the Gen II games and their remakes, whereas Red in Special only got a Bulbasaur, I think. So you could consider Red from the games to be a far cooler badass alternate version of Ash, just like how other anime characters aren't exactly the same as their game counterparts.
Ah I see...I don't think i've read that manga then. The only manga I read that followed the games was completely in Japanese so I only looked at the panels but it went from R/G/B/Y-G/S/C-FR/LG-HG/SS-After Story. And Red was the main character through the whole thing. It was based off of the games directly to the point where Red even uses his original pose from his original sprite and his new one from HG/SS and then the After Story is Red coming down from Mt. Silver.
THIS should be the intro for the pokémon series. Not that god-awful calamity they gouge our eyes with in Best Wishes. God... And here I thought they couldn't make Ash even more detestable...
