i hope you remember the dragon pit in season 7 episode 7 were cersei, jon and danaerys had truce meeting. That pit was made to keep dragons as a stable for them because they were becoming a problem after maegar targaryen's cruelty. They were kept in the pit when they're not required and started to grow smaller in size and eventually died, and that also marked the end of Targeryen's special weapon which made them weak.
