I used to operate exactly the same projector while I was working at the cinema. Marriage was my worst nightmare. Had to perform a couple of those because of faulty cables in the middle of a screening. What a throwback this video is.
Thats cool as hell. I work at a cinema and we have a NEC NC 2000C linked together with a Dolby DSS200. No matter what make or model, they are all cool and work uniquely to their own ways.
This is so cool! I love this video. This really explains how they go about setting things up to run in a digital theater. I have a whole new-found respect for the Christie line of projectors. Even though that's a slightly older model, it's still really impressive at how easy that is to set up and run. Very insightful! Thanks so much for putting this video together. Excellent work!
Great video as always, All of these digital cinema projectors are indeed unique, cool how you are able to show the menus through your PC. Probably one of the most in depth videos of the menus of the cinema projectors on TH-cam. I have heard the sensors on certain models are indeed sensitive, causing the projectors to lock up. Hopefully you haven't experienced those issues too often
Hi Kyle! Great Video. Could you please describe how you connected the projector to VNC? I have also tried some of Christie's remote Apps to try to control our projector with no luck. Christie Virtual Remote sees the projector on the network, but will not connect to it. Any guidance you could give would be helpful! Thanks!
HA! I will reply to my own question. After working and researching for a few hours I figured it out. I can now control the projector from a tablet. We have a tiny view hole from the projection room, so being able to adjust the projector from the house is a game changer!! (I am learning, this is what happens when you place your audio engineer in charge of projection! LOL!)
Hi! I want to know if yoy can play a DCP direct from the Hsrd drive or CRU Kit, or you shoulf always ingest to your own server. Thsnks a lot great vídeo
If it is calibrated, it is not supposed to. That is sort of the point. However, for contrast for example it would depend on if the projector supported HDR (laser) or not. Brightness as another example is supposed to be the industry standard of around 15 foot lamberts
There are different types of projectors, but to my knowledge there is not much of a difference between ones for drive ins and regular theaters. The important part to remember is that theaters will always be darker than drive ins, so that generally brighter projectors should be used at a drive in
any idea how to change the image settings like too much contrast or not enough information in black tones? I heard the CP2210 came with an adjustment remote but my theater lost theirs. so adjusting via the touch screen would be best.
Hello! There is a DVI port built into the CP2210. There is NO audio processing built into this part, so you will need to manage audio externally. Also, you cannot play studio DCP this way

went and saw sonic 2 at my local largest cineplex and the projector quality was miserable. It was so dark even for such a bright movie. Any scrolling or panning of the image would completely chop up the image into a blur and take about a 1/3 a second to stabilize when still. The fur effects on Sonic were like tv static most of the movie. We have been sold a bill of goods in these digital projectors. They have so much bit rate and lag issues.

Very helpful, just started working at a theater, this helps fill in the gaps of my intro to the system. Thanks!

Yes we have been mostly okay! Our IMB-S2 has failed many times however. Thank you for the kind words!
How would you select the audio like 5.1 or 7.1?
On the DCP it would be which package it’s labeled. Otherwise you don’t have a say, it’s what the file is.
@@KyleMiko are they usually the all same. I heard online it’s easy to mistakenly put a 5.1 in a 7.1 theater.

Do you have videos on how to fix/replace the douser?
Great video. Do you have to wear a mask in the room at all times? Is it due to humidity emanating from the mouth and nose?
Thanks! And no, when this was recorded in 2020 the university required the mask even if nobody else was in the room :/

Does this automate the curtains, or is that a different system?
Hi. Kyle how are you
Can you show how to create 3D channel
(3D scope)in TPC please
Question: does the contrast, exposure and saturation change when you project a DCP, compared to a reference grading monitor, like Eizo.
Thanks ❤️

Is there a newer version of this system?
Is there a difference for drive inns and cinema projectors? Which would be better for a drive inn???

Yeah in the advanced configuration menus (might need to be signed in as service account) you should be able to create color profiles etc.
Can a DVD player and/or laptop computer be connected to this type of projector?

Great video, man. Thanks a lot!
I’m surprised that even though it’s old, it’s a relatively simple system. It doesn’t look 100% amazing, but it’s pretty good.
Who delivers a dcp to theatres is it a person or it comes through online
Mail
Excellent
The cinema in my city has red horizontal lines on the screen
Any tips how to fix it?
They got Thor love and thunder but the format was 16:9 and they don't know how to set it to 2.4:1
Ah yeah that is important. They need the screen profile to be setup properly
Can I download this software for home use?
Not sure what you mean? The remote connection is using VNC
@@KyleMiko Is there a way to try demo version of IMS? Or some kind of TMS? For Windows 10
Not to my knowledge, sorry
Question how would I connect a dvd players to a christie cp2000 yes were are out dated lol
It depends on the media block installed. Do you know which one?
CP2000 has 2 digital DVI ports on the underbelly of the projector you can use for video, audio will have to be managed externally.
@@KyleMiko CP2000 does not take a traditional media block

Very cool. I was a projectionist in the film days and love digital presentations.
Informative ! Thanx dude!
Kyle, Could you please show us Audio and Video Bitrate of DCP movie.
The CP2210’s IMB-S2 supported up to 200 MBits/sec iirc

Why the mask? Distracting
Unfortunately at the time of recording the university required masks :/
