      +Fantech0104 no problem! Did you hear Amtrak is getting new sleeping cars for their overnight trains into Penn Station including the Lake Shore Limited?

      +Amtrak Enthusiast No I haven't. That will be really cool though!

      +Fantech0104 it has! Amtrak is just switching their paint scheme back to phase 3 which they had back in the 80s and 90s and if you look at 9:39 in this video you will see one of the new dinning cars in phase 3. Also they are switching the Amtrak P-32s to that scheme to look like Amtrak 704 if you have seen that unit on the Hudson Line! If you have not you can check out my video named Railfanning on The West Side of Manhatan which in that video I saw 704 on Amtrak 69 The Addirondack. Hopefully they do the rest of the engines and then every Amtrak Genesis locomotive will look like a heritage unit!

    I just noticed that the lake shore limited had the older baggage car!! Most trains like that have the new baggage car.

      +thecooltrainguy After you mentioned that, I did see the the first lake shore limited train did have the older baggage car. I didn't think Amtrak still used those cars.

    in the double engine Amtrak, both engines looked the same to me.

      +hawshpaw27 They do. But you can tell the difference by their numbers
      Amtrak GE P32's are labeled from #700 - #717 with the dual mode feature
      Amtrak GE P42's are labeled #1 - #207 with no dual mode
      Amtrak GE P40's are labeled #800 - #843 with no dual mode

      +Fantech0104 what the heck is dual mode?

    • @Fantech0104
      @Fantech0104  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +hawshpaw27 The Dual Mode engine is an engine that can run from it's diesel generator or a source of electricity such as third rail or over head wire. The P32 Engines have a dual mode feature. They can run from it's diesel generator or from third rail.
