Nice lineup! My buddies had an 80’ srx back in the day. I always wanted one and still do but barn finds are getting few and far between. Especially for a half way decent one. Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Nice video. I had two Yamaha sleds in the late sixties and early seventies. Great sleds. The last one was 1972 GP 433. Fast sled. I wish I had it now. Keep up the good work.
Awesome collection you have there have a 90 yamaha srv 540 had it probably 15 years now still running strong its been rebuilt once by me a great snowmobile for not a lot of money good work 👍
Great collection and fun video. Had a '82 Enticer 340 back in the early 90's. After that a Phazer and a couple of new early 2000's Ski-Doos. The Enticer was the most fun due to it's light weight and power to weight ratio. Rode that sled all over Michigan's Upper Peninsula without a single mechanical issue. Still had a half tank when the other guys were stressing over fuel. The only other sled that was as much fun was a 1972 Rupp Rover with a Xenoah 295 single carb. That was a 20:1 sled that was rock solid dependable, fun to ride and super light weight. Enjoy the Yamahas!
That black and gold SRX is badass I have a Yamaha Raptor 660R with a Yamaha VMAX 600 twin snowmobile engine and a Polaris Trail Boss 325 Yamaha Exciter II 570 twin snowmobile engine a single seat Rail Buggy 1975 Skidoo 440 twin she gives the quads a run for their money
I have been looking for someone that would be willing to restore my 1978 Kawasaki Invader. I just don’t have the smarts or the confidence in myself to do a good job.If anyone knows of such a person close to central Wisconsin I would appreciate it.
My buddy said he saw in one of ur videos that u were re-doing a seat( not sure which sled). Anyways, he said that u had new pans for each end of the seat and they were made out of fiberglass or something.I've re-done a few old Exciters now and the metal pans are so rotted out that there's not much to attach the cover to. Please let me know if u know somebody who makes these. Thanks !
Best would be to try and track down another stock carb. If you can't find one then I'm no too sure. Maybe a VM36 roundslide but you'll lose oil injection. Also will have to experiment with jetting.
@@garagenerd1951 thanks ill see what I can find i may just pre mix fuel and run it through but I haven't found any one in the colorado area that has those parts

Love the SRX , got to try a new one in 1980. Awesome power for the day! I had a GPX338 at the time. Nice sleds you got there.
Fond memories in this video! Very impressive line up.
My first Yamaha was a 250 from 1980, follow by 340, SRV 540 and a 540 viking
Nice!! 1978 440 Exciter, 1983 Vmax 540, 1993 Phazer L/E, 1989 Inviter. Love vintage Yamahas!

Look up Tim Kinniburgh on Facebook. He's the one I get my pans from.
The SRX should be pretty snappy
Do you have the parts number for the uni filter?
What part of the country do you ride?
What type of carb would you recommend for a et 300? I botched mine working on it

Facebook Groups will be your best friend when looking for parts.
I was curious why you put a 79 motor
Because the 1980s SRX engines were pretty much junk.
