The story of the mysterious mountain comes to the notice of King Bhoja, a just and egalitarian King. He is eager to find the secret behind the stories people tell him about the mountain and goes on a quest by himself to find out more. He finds a throne there in a cave.

Singhasan Battisi is a collection of Indian folk tales. The title literally means "thirty-two (tales) of the throne". In the frame story, the 11th century king Bhoja discovers the throne of the legendary ancient king Vikramaditya (also known as Bikramjit). The throne has 32 statues, who are actually apsaras that had been turned into stone due to a curse. Each of the apsaras tells Bhoja a story about the life and adventures of Vikramaditya, in order to convince him that he is not deserving of Vikramaditya's throne.
അത്ഭുത വിക്രമ ധികൃത ശക്ര പരാക്രമിയായിരുന്ന ഭോജരാജനു ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരു ദിവ്യ സിംഹാസനം കിട്ടി. മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ട് സാലഭഞ്ജികകള്‍ കാവൽ നിൽക്കുന്ന ആ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ആരൂഢനാകാൻ ഉറച്ച ഭോജന് മുന്നിൽ തുറന്നു വന്നത് ഒരു കഥാപ്രപഞ്ചമാണ്... സിംഹാസനത്തിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ ഉടമ , നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്കു മുൻപ് ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന, വിക്രമാദിത്യന്റെ വീരകഥകൾ... ഭോജനൊപ്പം നമുക്കും കേൾക്കാം...
