    So happy to get inside the businesses. It’s really dated and blah on the front of the buildings, but once across the threshold, it is well done. Would love to visit there!

    Born and raised in Murphy. Definitely not what it used to be. I could definitely tell you about the history of the area. Bistro 29 was the pool hall as I was growing up. Where the undesirable folks hang out. Enjoy your videos from the Western NC area.

      Thanks so much. I’ve always have a deep appreciation for this area. I spent a good bit of time in the late 80’s in western NC and Murphy when I worked for Contel (aka Continental Telephone Company) converting the area to digital telecommunications. Agree, wasn’t much around and stayed in all of the old “do drop in” roadside hotels. Way to many lunch’s on the side of the road of a Coke, Vienna sausage and saltine crackers.

    Great video! I was one town over, in Hayesville, NC, last week! We've gone up to that area every year for 20 years. If you're still up there, you guys would LOVE downtown Hayesville, about 20 miles east, right off of 64. Even smaller and more quaint than Murphy. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the others :) By the way, we were THIS close to eating at that brewery in Hiawassee, but ended up at the Chevelles that's in Hayesville.

    Murphy is just down the road from our North Georgia mountain vacation home in Blairsville. Great area. Have you checked out Helen Georgia. We love Crane Creek Winery, we've been to several wines tastings when they showcase several wineries from the area. In Dahlonega there are several to visit. Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery. Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery. Kaya Vineyard & Winery. Three Sisters Vineyards & Winery. Accent Cellars., Frogtown, Montaluce Winery, Habersham Winery, Sharp Mountain Vineyards, Cenita Vineyards, Sweet Acre Farms Winery, Yonah Mountain Vineyards, Serenity Cellars, Cartecay Vineyards and several others. Can you tell my wife likes wine 🍷? LOL 😆🤣😂

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Big Dan. Thanks for sharing. We’ve been coming to the area for a long time. Had a home in Blairsville for a while. We’ve been to the entire list of vineyards mentioned more times than should be mentioned and we have a number of videos on the channel for each. This area is one of our favorite places. To say the western NC and north GA mountains are special to us doesn’t express how deep the hills, the people, and the culture has been ingrained in us. From your comments, I suspect these beautiful hills have impacted you as well. Thanks again for confirming a great list of places to see.

    The Red Brick Deli is awesome. We were there a few years ago on a Sunday looking for something to eat and walked up to the door but they were closed. The owners were inside preparing for Monday and opened the door and welcomed us in and prepared a great meal for our family. We will definitely go back to the Red Brick.

      @@iLoveRVlife we got to go up inside it last summer when i was visiting. its kinda treacherous climbing but getting to see the clock mechanism and old brickwork and look down through the vents over murphy is pretty incredible. there are actually bullet holes in some of the vents that you cant really see from the ground. he said there were bullet holes in the old spire and im pretty sure he mentioned an arrow they found in it. so thats crazy
