I'm sampling the L'Anarchiste along with you as I picked this up a short while back. And I dig it. And I don't know why lol... It's striking. It's unique. It's an interesting exercise. The ebb and flow of different notes dancing in 2s. ie mint and cinnamon. Cinnamon and sandalwood. Mint and orange blossom. Etc.... Shame about that Obsession. Anywho. Keep up the good work ✌️
Great finds Ramsey 💪 Sad about the Obsession. I got my bottle of Perry Ellis cologne version and you are right - they are two completely different fragrances. It might actually be the worst reformulation I have ever seen... that would make a nice video 😂 '' Ramsey top 10 worst reformulations of all time''🤣🤣

Shame about the Obsession, just had similar experience here with an off vintage, once you detect that turned note you're right it stays with you, it's kind of like a musty old newspaper smell to me. I'm sure if it was fine you would appreciate it's beauty. As you say the 'highs and lows' of vintage collecting, just like blind buying. You're due some highs now!
Never send back a turned bottle who’s got time for that. Bin it so it doesn’t get put back into circulation and get a refund. Just a heads up always get anything vintage checked and confirmed in writing before purchasing that it is not turned too as a contingency.
Yeah man I never return squat that’s a chumps game. You’re paying a premium price it’s gotta be in good condition really they should check anything before sending anyway but at least you’re covered👍🏻
I bought and recently returned Obsession for women, same one you got, kidney shaped bottle, yep it was turned. On paper it didn't have any smell, on skin it was almost no smell, then kind of faint turned, sour-ish smell. After a few hours you could detect a very faint sweet amber-ish scent, but barely there. Also happened with a vintage bottle of Passion for Men by Elizabeth Taylor.
Now that it is about 45 min in the turned smell is almost completely gone and I feel like I am getting real vintage obsession for women... but thats a long time to wait 😒
@@RamseytheRam Yeah, I wonder if the vintage Obsession going bad quicker than other fragrances is a common thing due to their unique composition / structure / ingredients ... otherwise it would be an interesting coincidence we've both experienced it within the same month
They just must be stored in a cool dark area with no natural sunlight on them... sunlight is the enemy when it comes to destroying perfume... sunlight and air ... especially since this is a splash bottle the cap may not have been screwed back on properly once and it sat for years exposed to air .. could be numerous different things but if you can avoid natural sunlight thats the best way IMHO

Yes thats a good point... could be we just happened to buy bottles that werent stored properly but it is a strange occurance 🤔

I did keep it... the top notes are off but about half an hour in it shifts and its beautiful 🤌🤌🤌

Paint thinner... almost like this generic sour smell that doesnt smell pleasant at all🤧
