Being a victim of sexual assault and cocsa I have acquired dark fantasies due to my brain chemistry being messed up. Books like these remind me that having thoughts like this isn’t crazy and that I’m not alone. Books like haunting Adeline and does it hurt are for a certain type of community and I completely completely understand if it’s not your thing but it definitely isn’t romanticizing what happens in the book it is simply inclusivity and diversity in books
@@nataliesbookshelf yes it is. the book is romanticising their relationship even when he **ped her. it starts being a problem when many claim that they are the best couple and he is the sweetest nicest most capable book boyfriend ever. it starts being a problem when i’ve seen many say that « she wanted it » when she extremely clearly did not, even the author said that it was a r**e
@@nataliesbookshelfI’m also a survivor and I 100% agree with you. Especially with this diet. I don’t know what it was but in a way it empowered me. I love that she saved herself and she came out stronger. These books are not for everyone that’s for sure.
@@nataliesbookshelfin my opinion it definitely does romanticize it because they both acknowledged that he saed her and a lot of people love the gun scene where she literally begs him to stop also it isn’t cnc because there was no prior consent given and he even admitted that so yes it helps victims but at the same time it romanticized it and pushes the agenda that it’s not 🍇 if someone enjoys it which just isn’t right but I’m happy it helped you feel empowered!!
It’s kinda refreshing to see a booktuber doing an unhaul, i feel like it’s important to go through your library occasionally and sell/donate books to share the love ❤
If you want non-fantasy or paranormal books by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I suggest The Problem With Forever (YA coming of age romance about getting over trauma) (can't remember if you read it). Also Don't Look Back, a YA mystery about a girl with amnesia trying to figure out what happened to her & a missing friend. I enjoyed both!
This video is encouraging me to unhaul books because I have multiple copies of some books (not on purpose) and I am running out of room for new ones (my birthday is coming up soon so I'm definitely going to get more).
I can’t wait for you to read Luckiest Girl Alive! I read it earlier this year and it’s one of my favorites of the books I’ve read this year (I’ve read over 140 books this year). But I watched the movie as soon as I finished it, and I kind of hated the movie compared to the book. They changed a lot of things about the main character and watered her down imo.
Alexa I am back after missing your last month of videos on your amazing channel and I am back after I lost my mom due too cancer prayers and love to you and your family love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤and your breaking my heart ❤️ getting rid off your books 📚
I really liked your video. Also, the cover of the video was very beautiful, I wish I knew how to make such a cover because my videos don't get a good view and I'm disappointed to continue working.❤❤❤
not gonna lie, haunting adeline and hunting adeline were really good but you have to have a STRONG stomach for that type of stuff. i’m taking a degree that discusses these topics (i’m in law) so it was already a topic we discuss a lot so it wasn’t as difficult for me to get through. i completely understand why many couldn’t get through it, though, it was very disturbing and talked about a lot of heavy topics that aren’t discussed much.
I'm really intrigued to read it. The only thing is I'm sensitive to gore and torture... Not sure how prevalent those things are in the book. The other things don't "trigger" me
@@JulEnglefaris Definitely be careful with this duology then. The second one especially as it discusses human trafficking in immense detail as well as the PTSD that follows. There is also knife and gun play and there are violent depictions of them being used during intercourse as well as to hurt/kill other people.
@@lexustaylor1278 I did too! WOW was he ever patient with her through all of her trauma and PTSD... the concept of the books are kind of crazy but once you get into it, you can understand why Addie and him worked... he was definitely less insane than people make him out to be!!
You made the right call with The Perfect Marriage. It was terribly written, so many plot holes, way too long, and just bad lol. There are way better thrillers out there.
Can you offer me a book? I live in France and i would love to read in english because I'm learning it. And since you have books that you will not keep , i was wondering if you could gift me some. ❤
Impossible, les frais de port c'est plus de 30 euros pour envoyer en France et en Belgique, bien plus cher que le livre. Et si jamais ça peut aider, les livres en anglais sont moins cher que ceux en français sur Amazon, bon courage!
I just love your videos I really hope you make more videos on nintendo switch a kind of guide for people who have heard it first time. Mostly about lite version I hope you don't ignore my comment but I also know it's hard to read most of the comments but let's sleep my luck hope you have great day XOXO 🎀🎀🧿🧿🎐🪩🥂💫
can’t thank you enough for being one of the only booktubers saying that haunting adeline is romanticising horrific things ☹️ loved the video 🩷

You’ve reached sam is such a great book, it has a great plot and the emotional connection you get with the characters are amazing, recommend 100%❤
Literally! One of my favourites books. It came to me at the right time while grieving my grandmother.
Girly I love ur videos so much and so many of ur recommendations have been five star books for me.

so many special editions alexa! are you selling any books on pango? ☺️
Great video and content, love seeing peoples unhail cause it inspires me to also clean up the bookshelf.
Also you sound so much like Ariana Grande.
Okay I'm actually really shook because we BOTH posted book unhauls today!! What are the odds haha 😂😱
You should really give A Sorceress Comes to Call a chance, the author is really talented and her books are super fun ❤
You’re the reason I started reading 💅💅
You should try reading the zodiac academy series! Its found family on another level, magic, fantasy, romance & they are so good!
love this!! could you do a giveaway on youtube for the people who dont have instagram?? love you!!💕💕

Omg I wish I could have the haunting adeline books I can't fine them anyway
You should open put them on sale through Pango books! such a quick way of selling books very cheap and you can still buy some more books😁
I will literally do anything for that copy of BRIDE 😭😍😍
I really hope you will read you’ve reached Sam cause I’ve been debating if I should read it or not. Hope you will read it soon !!
Very excited 🥰 do you sell these books somewhere or do you take them in any libraries?

Are you selling any?? I would love to get the signed twisted love
Yes! On my pango 🥰 pangobooks.com/bookstore/alexaraye
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who despised the haunting adeline series. They are terrible.
I agree with you about preferring books in paperback. If a book is available only in hardback, I just won’t buy it!
Five Brothers is the only book so far.
I didn’t even finish the first chapter of Haunting Adeline
Thank you for letting me know about haunting Adeline. Glad I didn’t make that purchase 😮💨

Can I buy your copies of letters of enchantment that you’re unhauling?
