Hi, every time i watch one of your videos i always hope Bri does a voice over. Both of your adventures are something many of us enjoy Riding and hiking along with you on. And i think your videos are good. But really Bri you have a gift with your voice , its tone , and pace, as you sometimes go into a voice over of the scenes you both have experienced. There is true emotion and honesty in it as you softly descibe your feelings at that moment from what you have witnessed. And that is the part that unites people in there adventure of travel. we all strive for that feeling and its why many of us hit the road. And it is what will separate you from the dozens of other travel vlogs. It is a strength, don't be afraid to flex that muscle more often. Happy travels.
If you make it back to BV you may consider spending more time exploring St Elmo Ghost town, the Alpine Tunnel, Mt Princeton Hot Springs, the train out of Leadville - lots to do around there...
I lived there in 1977-1978 right on the river off 4-mile road ( Its sure changed as I have not been back since 1992) , my mom stayed there till 5 years ago and is now in Ks with me. Pretty country but a hard place to make a living!
When we were full timing it back in 2004 we had an accident on Interstate 10 in Texas. Didn’t flip our 5th wheel but came very close to it. When we opened the door to check the damage, the computer rolled out the door (tower computer) broken dishes but the worst was molasses and balsamic vinegar was everywhere! Talk about a mess to clean up! Needless to say our Rig was determined to be totaled as it ripped open down one of the slides and we limped the rest of the way to Florida. They had a heck of a time getting the rig disconnected. The 5th wheel hitch had bowed up several inches but miraculously never came apart! Our F250 Crew Cab was crushed on both sides over the back seat section. Stuff does happen....
Thanks for sharing some of the challenging stuff alongside the good. We’ve been fulltime in our 93’ bounder and toad for a month now and we’ve had a few mishaps along the way. Thanks for showing us we aren’t alone. Looks like an awesome rig. Let me know if you guys would want to come on the podcast sometime and talk about life on the road.
Just came across your TH-cam channel. I camp and pull a 26 foot TT. 7 to 8 months a year. Very few channels tell it like it really is. Yours does just that. Safe travels.
We have the same fridge and our came open traveling through Texas. We had to throw out everything. Major bummer. We bought child latches but I am sure they wouldn’t work for the door jumping off the hinge. I am impressed at the flooring in the airstream and how easy it is to clean. I try to look at the bright side of things similar to you. Yay the floor is clean and we learned something!! Celebrate! Haha. RV life. We head out full time soon. Maybe our paths will cross again. Loving the recent videos. Colorado is so awesome.
Wow another informative video!. You guys did a great job cleaning up the mess. Looks like another place to add to my list of places I would like to see. Made me want to be there with you guys!!. Really enjoying you video's. Have been up to Durango CO area and love CO also. So many cool places to see. Presently in San Francisco area - but will retire in May 2021 and hope to get RV and hit the road. My home is in Los Lunas NM so will head back there and regroup and plan to use all the knowledge that I am gaining by watching your video and others like it. Thanks so much.
If you go next time there is another entrance to the area you went. Also across from that entrance is another area that is more woods and better leveled just with out the view but next to a small stream. There are other areas there and in Salida down the road from there that I know you would love. I used to camp out there all summer long and my family is still there.
BV is one of our favorite areas in Colorado also. We spent 2 weeks there in June. Bummer about the fridge incident. We had one with BBQ sauce that was ALMOST that bad but not quite! Gotta be prepared for everything with boondocking! Hope you guys are well!
Had to laugh at the spaghetti sauce. Due to the tight quarters in my RV bedroom, it takes about an hour to change my sheets. Yesterday, I did that. Then last night, I made spaghetti for dinner. I often eat my dinner in bed if it's getting late. You can imagine the rest of this story. So seeing your spaghetti sauce episode today at least let me laugh at my episode last night.
Oh my gosh I would’ve died! Also, I’m thinking you guys will have to visit the area a third time with Ben and Christina:-) 🥰 Im just gonna have to suck it up and make that drive for that amazing view and cool town. Reminds me a little of Canon City in Colorado!
Hi new friends. Have clicked all your buttons and glad to be along for the adventure. "We have a situation." That's an understatement. Wow. Sorry you had to deal with that fun. Glad you had the bungee. Buena Vista looks like a cute area. Thanks for taking us along. We have some videos you may enjoy. Hope you can check them out.
We cringed for you when we saw the mess, but ya'll handled it so well. Great video! We may have to consider extra security for the refrigerator door now. 😉
Wow! What a trac up that narrow entrance. I could hear that diesel motor doing it's job. Oh no, the door. I've been there with a similar mess. Wow what a view:o. What a beautiful town. Great sunset. What wonderful video. Nice meeting you guys and safe travels.
The bungee cord is the culprit. The bungee cord was too tight when you hit a bump in the road it pulled it up and away from the hinge pin. If you do use bungee cords for the refrigerator doors they have to go all the way across the refrigerator not just pull on the handle. Hope that helps.
You are right, sometimes your refrigerator door just falls off. It happened to us the last day of a vacation trip. We had some gorilla tape with us and we taped the door in place for the final leg of our trip. Then we fixed the door when we got back. No big spill in the aisle like yours but it was still a frustrating experience. Beautiful spot to Boondock!
Oh my gosh - arrive at an incredible, 9200 foot boondocking site and then open the trailer door to a crime scene 😳😳😳 We admire your “take-it-as-it-comes” attitude - a lot lower stress level that way, right? 😎 Thanks for taking us along on your journey!
Bri you got way too much stuff in that refrigerator door when is it takes two guys to carry the refrigerator door that means is way too much stuff hopefully you guys didn't lose a lot of food beautiful country the dogs look awesome enjoy the video like always you guys take care and see you next week
@@EmbracingDetours Kenny is right about the weight of the stuff in the door. Try putting your bulky light weight things in the door. On some models of fridges too much weight on the fridge door can cause low temps in the freezer as well.
*#*% would have been the first word out of my mouth too! Quick clean up and great attitude recovery - for the camera anyway lol! Your brother may be in the dog house for a while after that recommendation! Beautiful video as always, thanks for sharing!
You might think about drilling a small hole in your fridge door pin then just insert a simple split pin to secure it just an idea enjoyed your video 🇦🇺
We didn't have a refrigerator come open but we did have a cabinet come open and a lot of our dishes fell out on really rough road and made a mess. Not fun.
Your videos have been very interesting and I would like to visit some of the places in Colorado in 2021 in our class C motorhome. Thanks for the beautiful and very sharp videos. What camera do you mostly use for your outings?
I really enjoy your videos......always interesting. TJ, I'm not sure I would have taken my vehicle and trailer through that brush but I guess the site and view was worth it. Sorry about the door, you two are such optimists, I would have been a raving maniac. Stay safe.....
Been there; done that... We've lost a fridge door as well as a few broken door shelves. Thankfully, our mess was nowhere near what you guys experienced with the tomato sauce. Glad it came out of your textured flooring...
Sorry about that. We have some closures on our frig & freezer door to keep it closed. Check out Amazon for RV refrigerator closures. Glad you had a beautiful view. Y’all are great! Safe travels! (Jane in SC)
Wow, I was having a total bummer day. My roommate’s dog went missing and then was found by a neighbor. The dog was shot twice. I hate where I am living. Thanks for showing me the town of Buena Vista. I have always wondered about it. I so love it, I live 5 hours south on a street named the same as the town.
What a bummer! So was there a better fix for the little “pin” keeping the door on 😂 I’m not sure why ours hasn’t fallen off yet . 🤞👊🏻knock knock . The world loves Colorado for sure. I just miss the days when we didn’t have traffic ands crowds. I’m a people person but..... my moms BFF just had a house built in “BV” beautiful area/ place. She was trying to get away from the crowded city life along I25. Great camping spot for sure 🤩🤩🤩
I’ve worried about this happening in our truck camper as we camp in some remote areas with our horses, and we live 8 miles in on a bumpy, rocky, washboarded road. You two handled the mess with grace and aplomb!
Nice camping spot. But the real question is was there cell and internet service up there? Refrigerator mishap must have been a fun surprise when you opened the trailer door! Enjoy the videos and wishing you safe travels.
TJ already has a plan in place to fix it, until then we’re just avoiding big bumps at fast speed! Thanks for the suggestion and well wishes, Bob - hope you’re well 👍😊
You handled that with a very calm attitude, my husband would have used every four letter word you could come up with. How long is your trailer, ours is 25'
Dang that road up to that view was narrow. Do y’all ever worry about scratches on the rig? Yea 4L would be wise and so wild that the fridge doesn’t have a bolt/washer setup. Isn’t it always the case that the thing that’ll make the biggest mess is what drops 🤪. Great views; no drone footage?
I would not have been able to laugh about the mess. Is they guy in the truck camper with you? Does he have a channel? I have traveled Monarch Pass twice, once in each direction. I always got altitude sickness when we stopped at the top of the pass.
You two are such a beautiful and sweet couple! Thanks for sharing!
well atleast the fridge didn't break..... beautiful camping spot...

bruce benninghoff , you’re so right!
Summer of 2021 has been one of the greenest in 25 years that I have been here (BV) unlike 2021. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Great video. We have been to both the Pagosa Springs campsite and the Buena Vista dispersed camping site. It is a small world.

To much weight for the door, always tough to arrange supplies in rvs good videos keep up the good work....
The mess in the camper was a bummer😬 but was great for the video😉, luckily you had Hercules to help TJ put the door back on.

Nice trip. A few refrigerators had a recall about the bottom hinge failing, I don’t know if you have that on your refrigerator but I did it on mine.
