I'm always mind blown by what Hot Toys does with the Iron Man armors, from MCU, comics, or games. My favorite is still the Punisher War Machine, from Marvel Future Fight.
the figure is amazing but something in the sculpt is off. they are saying its the same sculpt but with new paint so something with the changes is throwing it off
Absolutely amazing I was supposed to preorder this figure last year but instead use my rewards points to get the Iron Man Mark 3 2.0 but I'll definitely have to keep monitor on this one don't want it to go to waitlist want to add it to my small Iron Man collection
Can't wait to have ld mine in hand. But seriously: prices do get unrealistic. Even before Inflation started. Don't think much collectors can stay with this hobby. As long as Hot Toys holds on to this unreasonable price strategy.
I’m sure the new, die-cast version would be an improvement overall - as it should be given that it’s almost twice the price as the 2.0 - but IMO the 2.0 has the better paint job on the armor, particularly the paint-chipping effect on the crotch piece and tank on the right forearm. If I’m not mistaken, Hot Toys hired popular custom figure painter Lalla to do the prototype paint for the 2.0’s armor (JC Hong painted the Tony Stark head)and it’s amazing how HT brought it to mass production. The paint-chipping was very realistically rendered, it looks naturally haphazard which I find better than the cleaner, more deliberately-done look on the die-cast.
That is such a minor and specific detail that I'm certain most collector's wont care about given that this has diecast and that's what they've been begging for for a decade! LOL.
@@chocotastic1 for sure. But a detail that nonetheless separates those who appreciate the art behind the collectibles and those who simply think more weight = better quality.

Yes the light up features are usb controlled. Plug in and the bottom turns on and off all features.

I agree, i think overall the paint app on the 2.0 is better.

Diecast version is more film accurate though, in the film, the armour is quite clean but 2.0 seems to be focused more on quality
Total failure…same size as plastic one…compared with other Diecast IMs…it’s definite a dwarf, 0 interest now
The face does not look like tony stark. Good figure but i pass. We need mark ii
