Gorgeous image John! I love the wide-field frame. Cygnus has so much to offer. Does your back garden face South? Btw, I had to show my wife your four seasons room, what a great space!
Cygnus is great for me as it sits in a perfect spot from my back garden. The conservatory is great as it gives a bit more space to store my telescopes etc 🙂
A very productive night I would say John. You did a great job on both. Did you use Starnet on the North America nebula or process without? I photographed that region about 18 months ago with Starnet because there were so many stars to contend with. I still go back to that data periodically to keep my hand in with post processing but get different results almost everytime. I recently started using Siril. Not for stacking but for the initial stages after that and then put it into Photoshop after separating the background from the stars. I’m actually quite impressed with it.
Thank you Ian. This time I did not use Starnet. Instead, I used the reduce stars routine in the Astronomy Actions photoshop plug in. I have found that this works quite well in widefield shots, but when you come close in (even with a Redcat 51), I get odd halos around the reduced stars. I'll have a look at Siril, it sounds interesting. Hope you are doing OK, and having a good weekend 😊
Thank you 😊. I have just been over to your channel and see you have an 8" scope, so way bigger than mine. I have just subscribed and look forward to watching your videos. Have a great weekend 👍
Wonderful picture of the North America & Pelican Nebula, especially when viewed with the full screen setting.

Very nice job John, it's a good little lens that one. I'm waiting to see that dedicated astro cam drop on one day 😉
🤣🤣 Trouble is, I have too many expensive hobbies Ollie. At the moment, cycling is sucking up my money.
