I've always wondered that if the scourge of american history that was slavery hadn't existed, and believe me I wish it hadn't, would we have in any way, shape or form modern music as we know it today seeing that a very appreciable part of the genetic makeup of it comes from the slaves and their descendents...That could cause the question to be asked, seriously or otherwise, do The Beatles in some small way owe their existence to western slavery...? I only state this as observation and the curiosity which arose from it and am and in no way making any conclusions as I am far from qualified to do so...
