This is the best segment on espn. Give me an NFL qb looking through the eyes of an NFL qb. It’s be really cool to see how a defensive disguise creates an interception too. VR view is just awesome
Many years ago I saw a video that showed the game through the eyes of a QB during a 2 minute drill. I think it was Favre and they must have had a camera in his helmet. They went through everything that was going on, what the QB was looking at, what the defense was doing. I'm amazed anybody can play QB at an elite level in the NFL. You can't play it waiting to see a receiver open and then throw the ball.
This segment was absolutely phenomenal! I didnt expect the vr tech to work so seamlessly. And Dan did a fantastic job operating the tech while clearly and concisely breaking everything down in lamens terms. Its amazing the amount of info qbs process every play I would love tovsee more of this!!!
Great stuff. All most fans see is there's space around the receiver when he catches the ball and they say "anybody could make throw to a wide open receiver" without realizing that Tua had to throw the ball early so it would be there when the receiver had maximum separation. A lot of people just can't accept processing speed, spatial recognition, quick release and accuracy as elite traits for a QB.
NFL pro era should dig into this lane and focus on being used to recreate more on the field plays we’ve seen on tv. Madden is the leading nfl video game and I don’t remember the last time they used its footage to explain the logistics of an nfl play. This game is the future of simulation football, just needs some tweaking and updating.
Orvolsky has always been a big fan and defender of Tua when most people were crapping on him. He was just saying he'd give Love an edge because they're playing in Green Bay (and the weather is going to be in the 20's which makes it tougher on the Dolphins passing game that depends on speed and precision).
@ZGh0st1422 a whole Lotta words about how special Tua is to say the other guy "has the edge" in any context. It leads all the credence to those that argue there are a number of QBs -- any one would consider equal or better to Jordan Love -- who are better, period.
@ when 2 qbs are both playing well, you usually give the edge to the guy that’s home during a short week and an incoming cold wave, that’s not crazy to say
it was amazing ! finally educational content to explain whats happening, most people who love sports have 0 clue whats actually going on. this helps them!
Dan deserves a raise.
Ongod bro beast break down plays coach future 😮
No matter how much he gets paid he'll never escape the back of the endzone 🙏🏻😅
Was ready to hate this but with time polish and editing this could be really cool
They should be using Madden
EA could’ve supplied EPSN with the interface, but it’s EA sooo can’t expect much!
I liked it. Gave me some more perspective for creating plays. Just wish i could manipulate people with my eyes and body language in Madden too
Tua has the best anticipation in the nfl
That hawk tua joke was not necessary 😂
i agree
Hawk Tuah is INSANE LMAOOOOO. How did Dan keep a straight face?? ESPN has went off the rails. They might need to make this station PG-13 🤣🤣
Good job Dan. The best analyst in ESPN.
do more of this.. epsn.. this crazy good
this is awesome.
Finally a reason to watch ESPN again

Wow that is cool. Seeing the play from the QB perspective. And like previously stated they will polish this over time

This was fantastic, high praise for a new idea from ESPN

"DAN LOVE HAWK TUA!"😮
Did he say “HUAC TUA” at the end when calling out who he thought would win?
Hawk TUA is crazy to say in this moment knowing where it come from 😂 now he going to have that joke connected to his name forever Lmfaoo

Watching the play develop in real-speed at the end gave me a new appreciation for how fast nfl qbs have to read defenses
Awesome job, Dan Orlovsky!
One of the most informative videos ever. Well done Dan!
Tua has elite level anticipation and footwork. This is instincts. You can't train that.
This video is so cool. Should have so many more views.
Dan needs his own show
Really cool. Good job Dan. Go Dolphins!
4:44 i see you
Dan I Love This!
That is such a cool segment!
This was awesome.
So we finally caught up to what Sega did ... in 2004
Love this….
Dan in Vr wasn’t what I expected when I wake up

Dan needs to be MIAMI GM !
Looks like a ps2 madden replay i’ve done a million times.
I ❤this. Thank you
this is amazing tech
Did they use a Nintendo 64 for the graphics?
FIREEEEE
You giving them the answers Dan lol
I don't think Dan ever wanted to take it off
All that to casually proclaim in the end that Love is a better QB
Orvolsky has always been a big fan and defender of Tua when most people were crapping on him. he didn't say he was the better qb, he said he's got the edge to win this specific game at home

@ZGh0st1422 true
He just said “hawk tua “😂😂😂😂😂 go to church bruh
"AnYoNe CaN dO iT"
Dan was wearing those when he ran out the back of the end zone!!😂
Why can’t they use Madden as the interface
Would flow 100x better
Because Madden doesn’t play anything like real life… with the VR they can pretty much recreate plays and players exact movements
because madden isn't a vr game and this is
This is way easy to understand 😅
Man they made Liam really dark.
4:44 ????
🤣🤣
There was no reason for him to say hawk tua
his name is Andrew Hawkins and he picked Tua and the Dolphins to win the game. that is why he said Hawk Tua.
Something about VR goggles… just looks so stupid
They are getting better. Look up the bigscreen beyond.
581 views in 25 minutes ESPN fell off
relax
So cringe.
Don’t run out of your own endzone Dan
This was dumb
No… you are…
it was amazing ! finally educational content to explain whats happening, most people who love sports have 0 clue whats actually going on. this helps them!
Using new technology to learn, improve and have a new perspective is dumb huh?
….lol
