The client's scalp is clean and well moisturized - as was her natural hair! There will be no friction from the synthetic hair breaking the client's natural hair.
The fact that she greased her scalp, actually comes thru her hair before braiding and oiled her scalp afterwards is everything 👍 hair stylists and braiders don’t do that anymore smh i remember going to the salon with my mom and the stylist has other regulars and they all knew one another’s hair care routine lol

SKILLS!!! I'll never forget having a stylist tell me she couldn't braid my hair for a sew-in because it was "too short" it was at least 3-4 inches of hair. I knew then that she just lacked the necessary skills. Go girl!!

Last year I went to a salon when my hair was about the length of this client. When I took my scarf off, the stylists started exclaiming, saying “It’s too short”. I ended up getting burns on my scalp from the intense blow drying process. The stylist grumbled the whole way through doing my hair. Why didn’t I leave the minute they made a weird comment about the length? Well, I was going back to school and had no other option with the time I had left. I was traumatised after that incident and haven’t had my hair braided since then, which has allowed my hair to grow a lot. It’s simply shows that talent and genuine care for the clients brings amazing results. Great video!

You are amazing to watch. It reminded me when my hair was long enough to be braided for the 1st time (my head was shaved from 0-13yrs). When I 1st came to the US, she had taught me and my mom how to take care of my hair. The amount of care you put into your clients hair reminded me of her and how she would take care of me. My hair is now down to the middle of my back & I still do a lot of the same things she taught me.
Whipped it! 🙌🏾 I keep telling folks, in the 80s and 90s we weren’t blow drying or putting gel on each individual braid. There was no need to have “length” in order to get whipped. Some of these kitchen beauticians are just that and no more. 😐

I like and appreciate that you use the proper equipment on her hair. Clips with no metal and the correct comb to part hair. Some Stylist use the tip of a metal clip to part hair (that's definitely a no no for Natural Hair).

This braider is a TRUE braider. Although her model's hair was short, she braided it neatly and professionally with no blow drying/straightening beforehand. All braiders should be able to do this. If not, you need to meet with this braider and take notes. A braider that can't do this should not humiliate a customer and say their hair is too short. The braider just needs to bring their game up.

She an excellent job like I saw on a comment didn’t have to blow dry her natural hair to stretch it out . The hairstylist is very gifted and patient some braiders don’t want to fool with hair that’s short. I love her braids so professional I wish I knew someone that could do my hair how long does this style last ♥️
