First time I watch Anjelika Krylova performing, she was amazing and so beautiful! Best Carmen on ice I've ever seen!! Thanks so much for uploading this video
The difficulty might not have been on the same level as G&P, I have to say this was one of the best FD's in terms of drama, choreography, and expression. These two are sublime actors on the ice.
I totally agree.But I'll say more: I think is not only the choreography.V/M were been able to show that it was still possible to tell a fantastic but by now overworked story in a totally original way of skating and acting.In their routine there isn't any break in the narrative thread; each and every single step and detail is connected with the concept of the whole routine.And last but non the least the real difference are, no doubt, Tessa and Scott.Two real living wonders.
People say V/M's carmen is so new and revolutionary. But it terms of ground breaking, K/O did it more 14 years ago, and did it with more convincing drama. Some of the moves in V/M program look eerily similar to K/O's.
Angelika IS Carmen. She is the best acted "Carmen" I've ever seen on ice, and she stayed in character even through the "Kiss and Cry" and scores! However, this deserved the Silver behind Grischuk & Platov. G & P's performance was more advanced on all levels than this.

GanniBark! Навка-Костомаров танцевали под помпезную часть сюитыТореадора и Кармен,а Крылова под драматическую с Хосе! Это не сравнить! Или вы сомневаетесь в постановке Жулина,Платова,Чайковской,все помогали ставить номер,а знаменитая М.Плисецкая сказала,что это лучшая Кармен! Раньше не было обязательных элементов:твизлов,дорожек,сейчас они бы с таким номером не набрали и 40 баллов за технику!
I have to agree. The handholds were a little too open here. Grishuk & Platov were constantly in complex handholds and they had less set up time for each manouevre.
they really should have won the gold. They should have placed first in the compulsories and all important free dance. It was right that they were second in the original in my humble opinion.
No, I don't think so. In 1998 Anisina and Peizerat were already better than Krylova and Ovsjanikov. They had better CD, most difficult OD and FD, and performed it perfectly. So in ideal world with fair judging A/P should have been a world champions in 1998

My favorite too, and my favorite couple ever, brilliant stuff . I don't see that anymore. For me they definitely were the winners.

Until recently, it was all about the drama. The more drama you had, the better chance you had of winning the ice dance competition.

The over-the-top histrionics are laughable. Kind of like when a little kid thinks that singing at the top of their lungs is "great singing".
too much acting and not enough skating. It may have been best acted Carmen bun it wasn't the best skated one.(imho)
