    Thank you for sharing this! We booked our TCI travel two months ago and are going in December. Got our travel insurance through Allianz (one of the agencies suggested on the TCI portal). Staying up on Trip Advisors Turks forums for the latest requirements. As you said, being flexible as we approach December. At least the travel insurance is there if anything gets canceled. We got that coverage too.just checked. Entry protocols changed: pcr test no more than 3 days before travel

      I am traveling on Monday Dec 27. Which means pcr must be done by 24th. But. I’m having difficulty finding pcr test that will be done before the 72 hours over the Christmas weekend. I think I have a 50 percent chance my testing will be done in time to get the tic assured certification. Maybe a 40k trip down the drain.

    Hey guys, I found the info on the TCI website (about the acceptable tests) very confusing. It seems that you HAVE to be tested by a CAP lab. We don’t have any CAP labs in our town that do Covid tests so I panicked for about 3 days. I finally emailed the tourism board and they responded that they are accepting tests from CVS and Walgreens even though they are not on the CAP list!

    Great video. Couple questions, why do you guys need to wait just before the 5 days to schedule your covid test? Also, is any Walgreens in the US an "accredited lab" and a valid place to get a test?

    • @HoffmanHappyTravels
      @HoffmanHappyTravels 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi football77480! Thanks for watching and for the kind words, we really appreciate it!
      Our Walgreens only allows us to book appointments so far in advance, hence the wait for the five day period. We are unable to say if every Walgreens is an accredited lab, so we recommend checking with your local store! :)

    • @MG-ot2yr
      @MG-ot2yr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sandysisson1100 Not all health insurance plans cover you outside the US, some do, but may not include medevac and may require you to use network services, and certainly don't cover the travel elements of a trip like trip cancellation, trip interruption, missed connection, lost luggage, delayed luggage, etc. You'd really have to inquire with your health insurance company about coverage for Turks and Caicos. Then you'd have to inquire with the TCI Travel Authorisation people to see if it meets their requirements to approve you for entry.

    Hey Matt & Chels
    Could you tell me two things? Did you have separate medical insurance outside of what sandals was providing? And how much did the covid test at Walgreens cost? I have already used my insurance for one and I'm not sure they'll pay for another

    • @HoffmanHappyTravels
      @HoffmanHappyTravels 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Laysia! Thanks for watching!
      Yes, we chose to have additional insurance outside of what Sandals/Beaches provides, but that was due to our particular circumstances for this trip. Usually, their insurance will suffice!
      As for the test, it was billed to our insurance, so we’re not sure of the cost yet. We believe it’s around $130 when not covered by insurance.
      Let us know if you’d like to book your own Sandals/Beaches vacation! We’d love to assist you at no cost to you! Feel free to shoot me an email and we can discuss it further! - Matt.Hoffman@CruisePlanners.com

I know you said that this question would lead one to put “yes” if they have regular health insurance. But should it be “no” since your medical insurance/coverage would be coming from the travel insurance plan? Thanks again for a well explained video.
