I own a parker sonnet GT which is in a brushed steel finish. I absolutely love these Waldmann pens. Great concept. I would LOVE to own the fountain pen model of the Concorde
Thanks for a comprehensive look into Waldmann Pens. My favourite metal pen in my collection is a limited edition Mont Blanc Leonardo Da Vinci, which is made of anodized aluminium.
I love learning about the different fountain pen makers from your videos. Thanks, David, for showing a variety of pen makers! I don't have many metal lens, but the one that I have enjoyed most lately is my Lamy Studio in terra cotta orange. Keep up the good work!
I have a few metal pens that I really like. The Faber-Castell E-Motion is really hefty, but well balanced. Also, the 18k nib on my Parker Sonnet is absolutely delightful.
FP - very cool. I appreciated learning about new (to me) brands. Currently I have a neat Cross Medalist though I don't necessarily love the all medal/shiny bodies. Most used would be my Lamy Al-Star. Copper mule is on my one day list, too!
I'm pretty new to the fountain pen hobby, the only one I own is the Lamy Safari, so I can't say my favourite metal pen yet! Thank you for your brilliant informative videos, great place to start for a novice 😊
Nice to see some Walmann pens, very much a classic brand, and the engraving on that Xetra Vienna is to die for, reminds me of the old ring tops from the 20's - 30's. As for my favourite all metal pen, I would have to say that it's my cross classic century (from the 70's), gold filled body, with a 14k medium nib that is one of the best I have - this was the model of pen both my Father and Grandfather used, so I have certain attachment to it, bit too thin for my taste, but the memories associated with it are what makes it for me.
Thank you, David. I am in Canada and did not know of Waldmann. I have several metal pens (and brass enameled). I really like the Tactile Turn Gist. The Xtra Vienna is lovely.
Oh and the format (visually) of the pens as you lined them up top to bottom -- before you put down the pad for the writing sample (if I might add) was A OK
I have two ensso fountain pens: a piuma raw aluminum fountain pen and a pocket silver aluminum one. I love both of them. The first one for its design, it balanced masses and the way its nib writes. The second one for its size which allow me to carry it inside my jeans’ pockets, but once posted it’s comfortable to write with.
My favorite metal pen is the Kaweco liliput in copper. She was the first FP I purchased that cost more than $25. I love watching her age and patina like a penny. I can tuck her into my planner or wallet and she fits perfectly. A reliable writer that doesn’t need to be used every day. I know every time I handle her she will write for me and I am helping her gain wisdom and beauty. I like to think of her as the perfect gateway pen to the FP habit.
Never heard of this brand, but out of the three the Concord is my favorite design! My gunmetal black and red Monteverde Impressa is my favorite metal pen. Its extremely well balanced and has a nice weight to it!!!
My favorite metal pen is a recent acquisition - the Indigraph! On top of the impressive feat of using real india ink, it's one of the most tightly machined and finished pens I've gotten my hands on, and it's the perfect size and weight for extended drawing sessions.
I have a Sheaffer Legacy Heritage in Barley Corn; thats my favorite by far, and it writes like a dream! If only Sheaffer did half as well as it did in the 40s...
The only all metal pen I own is the Pilot Metropolitan, which like for many was my first fountain pen. I’ve pretty much gone all resin or acrylic since then, but these metal pens are very aesthetically pleasing!
Thanks for this review. I wasn't familiar with Waldmanns. Love the look of the Concord! I've always preferred metal pens. Somehow I feel my brass Pilot Metropolitan/MR looks and feels more sophisticated and substantial than my costliest plastic (I mean, "resin") pens. But my favorite metal pen (actually, my favorite pen of all) is my Pilot Metal Falcon SF. Always interested in considering a new (to me) and different metal bodied pen.
For the prices that you stated, you would think that the company would provide a converter, even if it might be proprietary. Thanks for your presentation.
Thank you, David, for another enjoyable review. All of the Waldmann's you show look impressive and any one of them would make a great prize. My favorite metal pen so far is my Lamy 2000 in stainless steel.
An interesting presentation and comparison, thanks. I'm delighted with my Waldmann Tuscany. Saw a film on (German) TV which presented the company and showed the production from raw materials to finished fountain pen. Fabulous!
My favorite metal pen is the Montegrappa Fortuna Mini Mule. I love the beautiful patina that develops as the copper oxidizes. Additionally, its sleekness and performance are noteworthy. I’d also give props to my gunmetal Nemosine Fission. It asserts its value and workhorse utility in droves, given the modest price point. The Waldmann Concord is my favorite of the three models reviewed today. The design’s understated, streamlined elegance speaks to me as a modern reflection of the Bauhaus period of German architecture and design.
Somewhat surprisingly, my favorite metal pen is a Wing Sung 7002 in "gun gray." Nice looking and not a bad writer. Thanks for your videos and the opportunity!
I have a Kawaco AL Sport that is all metal. I really like it. I actually have a question don't know if you can answer, why is the feed always plastic? shouldn't a metal feed function just as well?
What an interesting line of pens! I am looking forward to researching this brand. As far as metal pens are concerned, I really like the way they look, but I don't have a lot. Thank you for sharing your review!
My favorite metal pen is probably my Parker 61 Jet Flighter. Love the quirky capillary filler and the nibs are pretty similar to a good 51 nib if you like those...
I've lived close to Germany for most of my life, and I wasn't really aware of Waldmann either. I had recently noticed the Xetra Vienna, and I also think the engraving is gorgeous. They also seem to have very high quality standards.
Like several others have said, really nice looking and well built pens, but at those price points the lack of an included converter could easily be a deal breaker for many the way the current marketplace is regarding competition.
I have always been interested in Waldmann, so thank you for covering them. I am rather disappointed that they do not fit with a standard converter, further, what a shame they do not provide one. Maybe as they branch into the American market, they might rethink that.... My favorite metal pen is ST DuPont Montparnasse~ distinctive, classy, and a lovely consistent writer with the conical (?) nib. The girth of the pen is perfect for my larger hands so I don't feel like I am pinching to hold the pen like I feel with other pens of that era (when skinny was "in").
These feel more like ”art” or ”gift” pens in that they sacrifice ergonomics and usability for the overall look. If they are proprietary in their ink system, they should provide a converter, especially at these price points. The #5 nib is way too small on the Commander. Of course I would prefer the fountain pen! I only write with a ballpoint when forced! 😊
These Waldmann pens all look wonderful. Thanks for sharing this brand and those models. Unfortunately (since I own only a few metal pens) my Retro 51 Tornado Lincoln is my favorite, but it does write well for a pen in that price range. Wish it was a bit girthier …. Mahalo once again David for your thorough reviews.
The Pilot Metropolitan is probably my favorite metal pen. It writes really well, has a snap cap for quick notes, and is one of my regular out-and-about pens. I tend to not worry as much about my metal pens. I also have a Parker IM that reminds me of that Concorde, but was much cheaper and has chrome plating. I like the looks of the Parker IM. But it isn't great for long writing, and had ink flow problems until I adjusted the nib and feed. It has a snap cap too.
The Vienna is quite striking, and the Concord FP would make a lovely gift. The most beautiful all-metal pen I can think of is the Yard-O-Led sterling silver Viceroy in Victorian finish.
The Waldmann Concorde pen's finish has an elegance reminiscent of the neat straight lines of Faber Castell fountain pens but a bit curved which makes it more appealing.
My current favorite metal pen is an Ensso Piuma with interchangeable #6 Bock nib. Lightweight, well-balanced, comfortable in the hand and warms up nicely.
THanks for the review, I have never heard of Waldman. As for my favorite metal pen, no doubts, it is the Sheaffer Targa with Triumph point, in brushed stainless steel. I bought a pen and pencil set for a gift, and drooled over it for two weeks, then appropriated it for myself. I used it exclusively until I retired about 10 years later. I still love it, even though I don't have much need for it these days. I bet 80% of your users specify fountain pen as their choice. Who would want a ball point as a prize?
I still love my Brass Sport, although I happened upon a Sheaffer Javelin with an aluminum body and i just can't stop using it. It is difficult to find anymore or I would get 2 more of them!
I have a few retro 51’s that I like and a couple of Grifos and Kara customs I really like. But my favorite for sure is my tactile turn gist in titanium. It has good texture which helps with grip and is a great writer.
My favorite metal pen is the Italix Parsons Essential. Sold only by Mr Pen in the U.K. Customer service is excellent and I had my pen about a week after ordering. Great looking. Smooth writing. Nice weight and feel.
Nothing gets those comments like a giveaway! That Xetra Vienna is very interesting looking, but cartridge-only? That's too bad. My favorite all-metal pen is my Diplomat Aero. Thanks again David for the fine review.
Thanks for the review, David. I own a number of metal bodied pens including the Conklin Heringbone, Kaweco AC, Diplomat Aero, Retro 51 and Pilot Metro. So far, no pens with precious metals, however.
Nice looking pens. My favorite metal pen is the Diplomat Excellence A. I have two, but Rhombus is my favorite. Steel and gold nibs both are quite nice. I also like Faber Castell Looms for their value and their well-tuned nibs; but I find the section of some Looms to be too slippery for comfort.
I love them all, but the Vienna sings to me in a siren voice... Hmmm... My thus far favourite metal pen is the Diplomat Aero Factory, a nice warm aluminium
I own a parker sonnet GT which is in a brushed steel finish. I absolutely love these Waldmann pens. Great concept. I would LOVE to own the fountain pen model of the Concorde
Just got into this whole fountain pen thing a few weeks ago. Starting off small but feeling the addiction kicking in. Thanks for the reviews :)
Thanks for a comprehensive look into Waldmann Pens. My favourite metal pen in my collection is a limited edition Mont Blanc Leonardo Da Vinci, which is made of anodized aluminium.
I thoroughly enjoy your ongoing reviews of fountain pens and related items. Please keep up the great work!
At first I wasnt a fan of metal bodied pens, but theyve slowly been growing on me. Would love to try these out!
I love learning about the different fountain pen makers from your videos. Thanks, David, for showing a variety of pen makers! I don't have many metal lens, but the one that I have enjoyed most lately is my Lamy Studio in terra cotta orange. Keep up the good work!

Stunning craftsmanship. Great that these are now available in the US
I have been watching your videos to learn about fountain pens to help me decide on my first one. This contest will make the decision easier.
I wish you would link all the products you talk about, it would make looking them up so much easier.
Nice to see some Walmann pens, very much a classic brand, and the engraving on that Xetra Vienna is to die for, reminds me of the old ring tops from the 20's - 30's. Really nice pens for sure! I'll be looking into the brand more for sure since they now have US distribution.
I actually quite like the look of that Concord fountain pen. It's got a nice simple design and the nib seems to perform pretty well too.
The engraved pen is so amazing! The handmade stuff always intrigues me with how unique they can be and how amazing the designs are!!☺️
Thank you, David. I am in Canada and did not know of Waldmann. I have several metal pens (and brass enameled). I really like the Tactile Turn Gist. The Xtra Vienna is lovely.
I've always been interested in the double ballpoint and fountain pen. There aren't many pens like that being made.
First time hearing about Waldmann (here in the US). Thanks again for the review. Interesting concept have both ballpoint and fountain in the same pen.
Oh and the format (visually) of the pens as you lined them up top to bottom -- before you put down the pad for the writing sample (if I might add) was A OK

Those pens look beautiful! I don't have any metal fountain pens yet, but I love my Lamy Safari ✒️
Try the Lamy Al-Star. A few dollars more but is metal and feels more substantial.
Beautiful Waldman Comander pen I agree...It should have a larger nib for visual balance.
For the prices that you stated, you would think that the company would provide a converter, even if it might be proprietary. Thanks for your presentation.
Really appreciate the effort you put into your videos. I have picked up a couple of pens now based on your reviews. \m/
Wouldn't mind the Concorde (the fountain pen that is, not the ballpoint), looks quite beautiful.
Ciao David. I start to follow you 6 months ago and now I have my collection of fountain pen. Thanks, a wonderful hobby !
Thank you, David, for another enjoyable review. All of the Waldmann's you show look impressive and any one of them would make a great prize. My favorite metal pen so far is my Lamy 2000 in stainless steel.
Pretty, but I'm concerned about the lack of a converter -- not only is one not provided, but you say that one may not even be available!
An interesting presentation and comparison, thanks.
I'm delighted with my Waldmann Tuscany. Saw a film on (German) TV which presented the company and showed the production from raw materials to finished fountain pen. Fabulous!
They look great! I love my Waterman Carene, really got into metal pens recently :)
I have a metal pen...grown to like the weight. The fluidity of these nibs look sweet. Count me in.
Somewhat surprisingly, my favorite metal pen is a Wing Sung 7002 in "gun gray." Nice looking and not a bad writer. Thanks for your videos and the opportunity!
I have a Kawaco AL Sport that is all metal. I really like it. I actually have a question don't know if you can answer, why is the feed always plastic? shouldn't a metal feed function just as well?
almost exclusively use metal pens, but my all time favorite has gotta be the Lamy studio. was my first "high end" pen. love it to death
The etchings on the Vienna are AWESOME. Simply beautiful.
I've lived close to Germany for most of my life, and I wasn't really aware of Waldmann either. I had recently noticed the Xetra Vienna, and I also think the engraving is gorgeous. They also seem to have very high quality standards.
Would love to win one of these wonderful pens! 😊 I have a pilot metropolitan as my only metal pen!
Like several others have said, really nice looking and well built pens, but at those price points the lack of an included converter could easily be a deal breaker for many the way the current marketplace is regarding competition.
Those are nice! I have the Pilot Metro, which I believe is mostly metal, but haven't used and other all metal fountain pens
Thanks for introducing this company. Had not heard of it.
When you first showed the Vienna on your channel I was immediately wowed. I'm gonna have one someday!
Always loved the looks of the Waldman pens. Great video, thanks for the current review
These videos are very helpful. I’ve no metal fountain pens. The Concord would be a lovely beginning.
i've about them bofore and even try to look at their website.. found a bunch of interesting designs
Those are pretty pens! I am a subscriber but I keep my channels list private but I can always provide proof of being subbed. Nice review.
I don't currently have a metal pen, but the one at the top of my list is the Pilot Elite, though the TWSBI Precision is up there as well.
Omg! This is Sucha great giveaway! Theses pens look so nice. Good luck to all who enter the giveaway!!!
I have the Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen. I really like this pen in the extra fine for my planner. The fine line doesn't stay wet too long.
These feel more like ”art” or ”gift” pens in that they sacrifice ergonomics and usability for the overall look. If they are proprietary in their ink system, they should provide a converter, especially at these price points. The #5 nib is way too small on the Commander.
Beautiful pens! They're all so different; I'm not sure I could pick a favorite.
I wish the Waldmann brand was more accessible in the US. Would love to try one out!
The concord fountain pen looks classy. I like all metal pens... several in Chinese pens, and a Lamy Studio.
The Vienna is quite striking, and the Concord FP would make a lovely gift. The most beautiful all-metal pen I can think of is the Yard-O-Led sterling silver Viceroy in Victorian finish.
Nice looking pens. My personal favorite for a metal pen is an vintage Waterman Executive that also happens to be my very first fountain pen.
Will you do a review of Edison Pearlette?
The Waldmann Concorde pen's finish has an elegance reminiscent of the neat straight lines of Faber Castell fountain pens but a bit curved which makes it more appealing.
I like the looks of that engraved cap a lot! But the grid pattern is also pretty and I would not say no to winning that!
I really enjoy my Karas Pen Co Ink and surprised at how much I enjoy my recent Schon DSGN Pocket 6 purchase!
My favorite metal pen is the Pilot Vanishing Point. I have two of them and use them at work daily.
The Waldmann Concord is a good looking pen.
I still love my Brass Sport, although I happened upon a Sheaffer Javelin with an aluminum body and i just can't stop using it. It is difficult to find anymore or I would get 2 more of them!
I think the Condorde has a beautiful, "yesteryear" look about it. I have really enjoyed pens made of aluminum. Like the Montegrappa Aviator.
I have a few retro 51’s that I like and a couple of Grifos and Kara customs I really like. But my favorite for sure is my tactile turn gist in titanium. It has good texture which helps with grip and is a great writer.
My only metal pen is a pilot metropolitan which I use frequently. I love the look of the Waldman. .
Thanks, David.
I hadn’t heard of them, I’ll have to check them out. Appreciate the video.
I have a Mr. Pen which I like quite a bit.
My favorite metal pen is the Italix Parsons Essential. Sold only by Mr Pen in the U.K. Customer service is excellent and I had my pen about a week after ordering. Great looking. Smooth writing. Nice weight and feel.
I have a couple of Karas Kustoms metal pens including one with a Titanium nib. They are great!
I have a couple of Lamy metal fountain pens, and I love them, personally!
i got a Nemosine on sale and while heavy with the cap screw posted on it does balance well and seems to float on the paper
Thanks for the review! I hope it's not too late to win the Concorde fountain pen. Very lovely!
Interesting pen bodies, thanks for the look
Sheaffer Legacy Heritage Deep cut palladium is my favourite metal pen.
Just starting to get into pens and really enjoy your videos. In my line of work the ballpoint would be preferable.
Nothing gets those comments like a giveaway! That Xetra Vienna is very interesting looking, but cartridge-only? That's too bad. My favorite all-metal pen is my Diplomat Aero. Thanks again David for the fine review.
I have been fascinated with the Pilot Myu/Murex models, but I have yet to pick one up. I also have a Diplomat Aero in brown, and I love it.
Thanks for the review, David. I own a number of metal bodied pens including the Conklin Heringbone, Kaweco AC, Diplomat Aero, Retro 51 and Pilot Metro. So far, no pens with precious metals, however.
Joining the comments about loving the pilot metro for a metal pen. I have a few other kinda generic metal pens, also, or “learning pens”. Thank you!
I really like that exterior design of the Concorde, of course prefer the fountain but that's a nice, clean look.
Metal works great for inexpensive pens like Pilot Mr and Jinhao x450 - allows them to look great and feel solid
i'm just getting into pens and your channel is such a wealth of information. thank you.
Lovely pens. The extra was my favorite, the hand engraving is just too beautiful.
Nice pens and a nice review. You're very fair in your assessment of their plusses and minuses. My only all metal pen is my Wing Sung 235.
Very nice pen, maybe even nicer than my so far favourite Jinhao 159, which will still continue to be a good choice...
Nice pens! The metal pens I own are a Lamy and some Pilot metropolitans and I love them.
