Great video! I’ve been following all your videos for this year’s gardening since I live in PNW too. Thanks for sharing all the details. I plan to direct sow broccoli this week. Hope it works. 😄 Could you please let me know what flowers would go best with each vegetable? I’d love to watch a video on that. Thank you!
Thank you for have great informative videos! Specially these video that tell me what I can plant each month. 😉 As a beginner gardener there is so so much to learn. I did plant peas and sugar peas this last weekend and I did some kale. Wasn't sure if this was the right time so I only did a few seeds but good to know I can direct sow more.
HA! Love it! 🕺. I'm gonna do it too! I've also seen a chandelier - cool. Finally April. 🌦 Lynnwood is going to have a couple mornings in the high 30s, so I'm hoping Wed will be the day I can plant out some flower seedlings. It hailed an hour after I planted out lettuce starts. Fortunately I covered them because I didn't like the look of the sky. Whew! Thanks for the video Christi!
Hi! New subscriber here! Just found your channel. I too live in the beautiful PNW 8b. My tomatoe starts are gling strong in my living room window 😁. Hope to get carrots, broccoli, potatoes and peas in the ground soon!
We live in Graham on the Graham Hill, which is higher elevation than other western Washington and we have been getting snow these last few days. Should I wait another week or two before direct sowing my outdoor seeds?
I was thinking flower seeds for 8b to direct sow. Your title isn’t specific, however, sweet peas sound good…will they grow up a chain link fence? Do they need full sun? Thank you!😊
Yes, sweet peas are perfect for growing up a chain link fence. In the north, they like full sun but also don’t mind afternoon shade if that is what you have.
Great video! New to the channel. We have moved to the area and this will be our first year gardening. Can we grow Watermelon and Cantaloupe here? If so, do you recommend direct sow?
I'm also in the area - I've not had good luck with melons... I always start my cucurbit family indoors to help them get a head start since our hot weather is so fleeting. If you do try melons, I would suggest putting them in the warmest part of your garden.
I transplant out warmer weather crops when the night time temperatures are consistently above 50F. I'm still starting green beans and basil this week - I think you have plenty of time!
Thank you for this 🙏 I’m constantly on the hunt for PNW specific videos of what to plant when. So helpful!
Today were had all the seasons, April makes my crazy!
We did for sure up here in north Whatcom County.
Yes, snow flakes this morning, sunshine, rain, sun, hail, clouds, rain, repeat.
Awesome! I planted radishes in a planter yesterday and plan to plant carrots and spinach soon.
Thanks for the video! This spring has been sooooo cool and wet!
Thank you for watching. This spring has really been interesting but I just keep saying it will be over soon (hopefully, lol)
Live out side of Grants Pass, just found your channel. Thank you for spending the time to make this video. Will follow you carefully.

When do you transplant basil/cukes/squash? Is it ok to start soon if I'm gonna give them 8 weeks and not transplant until June?

Thank you I did my beans before watching this...and every animal that comes in our yard ate them 😢
