Awesome video, thank you so much. My K1300GT has the large BMW top box and one side is not attaching fully underneath to the bike. The top box is wobbling when riding. Have you a suggestion for correcting this problem also? Thanks again.
I am having a problem with my bike (It is just like yours.) I removed ALL the inside screws and the liner/tub will NOT come out! All the side are loose except the bottom. Even though there are NO screws, either inside or out, something seems to be holding it down; it's like there is one screw in the middle bottom, but there is none. I am so puzled. Any ideas? You help would be greatly appreciated.
Not real sure. I’m out in the shop looking at my bike. There are several screws on the bottom. Also you need to remove the top half. Did you remove the latch? It’s been a while since I repaired my top case.
@@stevesworld7831 No. I can't get it off. That is one of the issues I want to fix by rebuilding it. Do I need to take it off before doing what you did? I you video you did the tub removal while it was still on the bike.
I was able to get the truck off at the bike. When I turned it upside down, I did not see any additional screws to remove. All the sides of the tub are loose, but there’s something at the bottom of it that’s holding it in, and I can’t figure it out for the life of me.
Did you take the latch handle off the trunk? I think that has something to do with releasing the base. When you lift up the latch I think there are two nuts that have to be removed for the latch handle to come off.
@@stevesworld7831 I did not remove the handle. I left in the open position becasue it is such a pain to get it open, I will go look for thos nuts. However, it seems to be something on the bottom. But I will keep trying! The bummer is that I have developed some serious arthitis in my hands 😞
Sorry I’m not able to provide more help. Rewatch the video and take a brake. Your brain will review what you have learned and come up with some answers. Wish you the best. 🤠👍🤠
I think that I used a 5/16 very small open end wrench. It took about 100 partial turns, but that was the item that kept it from detaching itself...then you need to noodle around with the lock mechanism to make it come apart. Goodness knows what a bi*** it will be to reassemble it all.
Thank you, so much! I just bought my first BMW and it happens to have the same issue! I am thrilled to have found your video! Thanks again!
I wnet ahead and Subscribed. ;-)

So weird. I started watching the video and it appears the bottom case came off without removing the latch.

1000$ for what?
@@stevesworld7831 The case.
