One of the cleverest sketches I've seen Benny do - superbly written and performed by both with a level of creepiness which remains really funny. We don't have humour or comedy like this today. Watch Benny's left eye at 3.46 10/10
Definitely one of his best. If you wish to see another of his finest ever clever sketches, look up here "Benny Hill Bo Peep :Nursery Rhyme Interpretations (1973)", and go to his Shakespeare version at time: 8:40. Absolutely fantastic. So creative.
I agree about the writing. It’s outstanding but no one would want to acknowledge that nowadays. And Benny’s facial expressions, especially his eyes, are just plain brilliant.
I repeat she seemed very beautiful here and she could be miss uk.....she was sure(and she is )talented too:i've would had watch with many movies and 📺 series with peter wyngarde ...they woul had been perfect as screen pairs
I still remember that catchphrase, "Learning all the time!" I've been saying it in a foreign accent for almost fifty years and no one has ever understood what it was - this is the first time I've seen it since the day of transmission.
She suddenly changes her mind! One minute she's trying to get away from him, next minute she's taking him back to her flat and planning on getting naked! Class Benny Hill sketch.
Jenny Lee Wright WAS a Babe, a real Babe like most of them were, back in the day. Not a tattoo in place, no body piercing, no swearing and not naked. Just a classy Babe, very talented too, and simply stunning, where did they all go too? Guess we all know, love this sketch with Benny Hill, another genius much maligned, as we all know, , how sad. Sorry its long, nice to say what you want to say, for a change.
Far better used on "TBHS" than Carol Cleveland on "Monty Python's Flying Circus," if you were to ask me. Ms. Lee-Wright to me was up there with, say, Christine McIntyre in Three Stooges' two-reelers, especially in the period pre-1952 when Hugh McCollum's unit was shut down, director Ed Bernds left the studio, and Jules White did all short subjects at Columbia until that whole department was ended in 1957. Like Ms. McIntyre in, say, "Brideless Groom," Jenny was not afraid to "get physical" if the script called for it.
Carlos - you just helped me learn something more in Spanish. In English we always say 'black and white' but in Spanish the opposite: 'blanco y negro.' Thanks 👍
without even looking at the comments I bet there's some jerk taking offence to this. These were great days with Benny Hill. Our society today makes you want to vomit

Benny Hill je vynikající komik, jako později Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean). Navíc Jenny Lee Wright je nádherná ženská s příjemným hlasem a blondýna, ty šíleně miluju!!!❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Benny Hill was the greatest of all television comedians and a comic genius if ever there was one. Towards the end of his life his comedy was branded “sexist” and politically incorrect with the result that TV companies dropped him completely. Still today you cannot find one single television channel in the UK that will show any Benny Hill comedy repeats. TO ME, IT IS APPALLING AND UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!!!.
Interesting Ms. Lee-Wright played the same role in both this and the 1982 color remake; here she looked more like an ingenue, whilst in the later version, while still gorgeous, she had more of a worldly air to her.
Now I understand the origin of the joke very popular in my university among the English learning students (just to show their illiteracy) "How much watch? 6 watches. Such much?".
@chris brown : I believe it's spelled "nowt", actually (it's a regional slang term), but in any case, "SuperJohnnyO" is correct -- it means "nothing". So Benny Hill's character is saying that if he doesn't pretend to be a foreigner, he "doesn't get nothing."
@chris brown : Yes, it's a double negative. Grammatically (and logically) it is incorrect, and a person would never write it in formal writing, but in casual speaking, people say it all the time! :-)
