    What a loco WATO ..you sure get your facts in Alan , but a smashing little Loco like you have said with all the changes made to it ..and that rake of wagon, and that beautiful little carriage..spot on ...they dont like that incline ..but on 2nd attempt no problem spoke too soon for the turn in to the station ...always good to have a banker ...good all round railway and museum pieces for all to enjoy there.... Dave

      (Crumbs its only been live for five minutes) Ya even though she's nothing like how she started life shes a sweet little loco ,,,, and just a few snippets thrown in for good measure ,,, I was surprised just how many Locos Keef ltd had made,,, I remember seeing and been amazed at a vertical boiler contraption, like sentinel, looked about the same age as say the "Rocket" im thinking how on earth did that survive all these years,,,, turns out it was a Keef ltd replica ,,, And yes the incline and bend is just a bit server,,, I think they loose adhesion as they cross the points and just the split second loss of grip can bring them to a stand still,,,, but when he was building it he knew he was pushing the limits on the curves and gradients and obviously only just managed to get the turning circle in,,, a bit of a worry I would imagine with the wheels inside the frames and all that weight high up not the most stable loco in the world ,, But an interesting day ,,, and good to see them working hard first hand ,,,, Cheers Alan

    Really great part two Alan.....That 'Woto' is a cracking little Locomotive. Enjoyed seeing all the Crossley Cars too, that first one to leave YY 2583 sounded quite awesome...I have known of this make of Car for many Years...Just don't see any around much even at Shows......Cheers....Steve.-:)

      No someone said they were quite a rarity ,,, and one of them was a complete scratch re-build ,,,, and I saw a stationary gas engine on a video with the Name Crossley ,,,,,, And it looks as if your keeping busy as guard on the W.S.R keep seeing you the Admirals documentaries ,,,,

    Two very enjoyable videos! Thanks for sharing your day there.
    It seems they need sanding devices on the locos.

      Hi there Anders ,,, yes sanders would be a help no doubt,,,, If you look at the front of 19 there is a platform and hand rails at the front ,,,, and a box in front of the smoke box door,,,, on the Darjeeling railway 2 Chaps would crouch on the front and dribble sand onto the rails by hand ,,, But im glad you found the videos interesting ,,,,, cheers and all the best ,,,,, Alan

    Well, it's nice to know that it isn't only on model railroads that they have to back up and try again at grades. Neat little engine, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..."

      yes indeed George ,,,, I think I can Im sure I can ,,,,, "O dear lost adhesion again"

    Nice to see Woto in action. She looks as if she's about to tip backwards to me lol. You can hear her working hard up the gradients. Nice combination of goods and passenger stock.
    I really like the replica Model T inspection car. Laurie.

      (Crumbs its only been live for five minutes) Yes strange stock combination but she carries the generator and compressor for the air brakes in the wagon,,, Woto is a bit like one of your locos where you take it apart and refashion it into something else ,,,, but an interesting day ,,,,,,, Cheers Alan

      I think you posted it about 3:30 and it was about 4:15 when I saw it. So I make that 45 mins lol.
      I still think it needs a rear bogie lol.

    • @aplinewalker
      @aplinewalker  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was it as long as that ,,,, seemed a lot less ,,, mind I did watch it through hopping there were no blank sections ,,,,, Yes she dose have quite an overhang ,,, but I resume with her not been that heavy ,,, and even lighter having been narrowed down to 2 foot gauge a rear bogie would take some weight off the driving wheels and reduce her adhesion,,, perhaps vital adhesion she could hardly do without even if she was shunting on the flat with half a dozen wagons loaded with lead and copper ingots ,,,

    Great example Alan. What was the wagon behind WATO? Lots of interesting artifacts. I liked the dining car. It seems like the overhangs on the sides of the coaches is extreme. Nice day. Rob

      @aplinewalker  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wagon was for a generator and compressor for the brakes ,,, yes lovely dinning car I presume Sandy River and Rangely lakes railway must be in the states ,,,,,,, Yes on 2 foot gauge there is quite an overhang ,,,, as with the loco the wheels are set inside the frames so very narrow at the base considering how much weight is above and to the side ,,,,,

    The English Crosleys are much nicer and bigger than the American Crosley.
