I love the fact that Makima stands on the center of the temple road (In Japan, only gods can walk on the center).
Moreover, she stands toward the stairs and in front of Honden( where gods reside).
She’s seeing as if she’s the owner of that temple.
Also Shoutout to my man Arai. He got shot unexpectedly and his first reaction is to protect Kobeni, real hero move their body before their brain do.
The real hero of this bcs he save the goat, RIP Arai.
Maybe is the power of the demon contract. She cant die (theory).

It really does ring true in this episode about devil hunters being crazy, Denji laughs like a maniac, Makima just looks absolutely terrifying and Kobeni when it matters goes nuts on her opponents with no fear.
Trust me, having few screw looses in you will let you survive inside public safety. A normal person ain't fit for the job.

@@Kizzainpleh The laugh is telling you that deep down, Denji is a psycho. The Chainsaw Man brings out the inner killer in Denji and the laugh makes you realize he has some homicidal tendencies to people that piss him off.

Akane sacrifices parts that can grow back, but she has to do it for every summoning.

Kobeni's devil is never mentioned or confirmed, and it's hard to tell what happens in this fight from the manga. But judging from how it was animated I have to assume she is contracted with the future devil. It's the only explanation I can come up with for her being able to dodge snake and the bullets. I also imagine it's not on 24/7 and has conditions which is why she didn't forsee the gun incident. She most likely only uses it in combat.
The only thing that makes this theory a bust is that the future devil always asks for crazy stuff in return for it's powers so nobody ever makes contracts with it. and Kobeni looked fine after both the grandma killing & the last fight. It could shorten her lifespan by a ton but I doubt it.
She cant evade that shot and she say said "is my fault" maybe she cant die and the people around her is influence by her demon.
Well I don't thinks so tho. Future devil just show what the future hold for you but not giving you strengths and stuff
There are an infinite posibilities of devils and you decided to go with the same that aki uses, even tho makima told him thst they needed an user with the future devil because they had none
That sounds like a cool theory. I always thought she was contracted with some kind of luck or karma devil. Ive seen others theorize that she’s contracted with some type of misery or gluttony devil. The assumption being that she’s a very capable combatant but her devil constantly feeds off of her other emotions & senses which leaves her in a constant state of anxiety. Only allowing her to act in very particular situations. We never find out who she’s contracted with so anyones guess is free game honestly.
Can devils split their bodies so that it can take multiple contracts from people?

For those who curious what makima did in the train..you should know that makima power are not only limited to her devil contract powers..she also physically strong af..so she's probably go omniman on them .. she need to use the prisoner cause she's far from denji..if not, she's probably just solo them...

Both of those who survived were under Makima's control already. Makima is the one who made that snake girl suicide(and frame it to the poor Gun Devil). Makima is the one who sold guns and sent those gangs.
The hint lies in many scenes. Guns are only distributed to the devil hunters and the police. The Gun devil is already in custody so that it can't give out guns. And Makima can manipulated anyone weaker than her.
It was all her plan to kill everyone near Denji and break down his heart so that the contract between Denji and Pochita about living a normal life could end.
Madoka somehow caught it and asked that question to her at the end of the ep.9.(And Mr. Kishibe later also says that Makima is lying about that incident)
Remember Makima collected all the names of Yakuza's afterward? That was to prepare for the next occasion. She new all of their names already. Those two survived because they were Makima's toys. They just can't realize it like the Angel devil couldn't.

Yes, she was kinda sus, but she still showed some normal behavior. Now, this chapter was made just to tell you that she indeed is something to look out for. Nothing wrong with people catching that up until now, that was the point.
theres definitely a difference between being weird and actually suspicious. She could have easily been one of those characters that are unsettling just to give them a personality trait and make them interesting but here it shows shes in fact a canon threat and someone to be wary of in the story
