@@ACKoi Absolutely. I’ve got Saki Hikari for the puddle this year, will be first experience of it. 🤞🏼 It’s been at 19 deg.C for a couple of weeks now, but still seem to have parasite issues, so dealing with that first before using the good food, as the filters will be getting knocked back with treatments…. 🤬
Fish and pond looking gorgeous as always. If I didn't know better I'd swear it summer at your place. Pond temp here is 5C and not likely to warm up much anytime soon as we are still having below zero temps overnight. Fingers crossed for warmer weather soon.☀😎
This is serious, why not have a heat pump installed for the summer months only? With you being so back-to-basics and getting results, the young SHOWAs and others there can JUMBO, even if they are in the UK!
We have got a nano heat pump, but it struggled with last year's unsettled summer. I hope this year will be a better summer, and the heat pump can keep the pond at a consistent temp 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@ACKoi A couples years before I referred to a body shape concentrated on the lower half of the body. (In fact, that was partly due to the problem of Israeli blood.) That problem has been completely solved. The next challenge is to put flesh in the tail tube. If you are a pioneer in the seasonal KOI keeping as we are, and if you achieve them in the early autumn with feeding techniques with full of TSUYA and TERI, you will be valued just as much as the Japanese hobbyists are practising.
@atsuminaoki9910 that is the plan, we have a good amount of food to feed through spring, summer, and autumn. We have bought more Saki Hikari compared to normal and less Koi to feed this year 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@@ACKoi Autumn feeding is the most crucial if you follow the mud pond rearing practices of breeders. It is normal not to touch, take out or disturb them during the summer feeding period, but they start to accumulate nutrients in their bodies when the water temperature starts to drop in autumn, with their appetite and digestive capacity having been built up during that time. The essence of the finishing touches is to apply them to their further increased appetite, making the body surface shiny and the tail tube thicker. It is really pitty that the summer feeding period is neglected and these basics are not properly communicated.
Arron, it's just the nano 3kw ashp it's the smallest one they do, I think its perfect for a grow on, but not quite man enough for a pond we do need a 5kw really 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Lookin great as usual guys, and all look ready for a good season… 🤞🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Thanks Andy, just can't wait for better temps now we've got the food 😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
