    My grand father was Commandant in the navy for the Tzar. My two great grand fathers, one was General and governor of Moscow, the other one was Colonel in the infantry. The Colonel was sent to Siberia where he died.

      In 1919 they had the best chance had Kolchack not over stretched his supply lines and prepared for a counter offensive. And if Denekin had better command of his soldiers, preventing 20,000 from being tied down in the occupation of Kiev during Moscow Directive.

    To those of you who talk about the Tsar in the comments, keep in mind that the White Army never aspired to bring back the monarchy, it was an anti-bolshevik resistance that included mainly democrats and mensheviks, who were in fact the majority of the socialists in the country, despite the misleading name "Menshevik" meaning "Minority", purposefully given to them by Lenin's gang. Tsar Nicholas was dethroned by his own tsarist generals because of his shocking incompetence in the Great War, way before the revolution started. The White Army chose admiral Kolchak as Supreme Commander and openly discussed making him a dictator once the war was over, while the Tsar and his family were held hostage by the whites in very bad conditions.
    Disclaimer: This comment is for educational purposes only since a lot of people are misinformed as to what actually happened around the Russian Civil War.

    Well the bolsheviks just had to many loyal soldiers and despite the white army receiving French and British tanks (during the battle of Tsaritsyn) and the only way for them to actually have a chance of winning was to hold on to Tsaritsyn which is now modern day Volgograd or used to be Stalingrad and if they held onto it the white army gained a huge advantage by using the resources like oil and wheat for food the white army and her Allie’s Britain France U.S Japan Ukraine Italy and her other Allie’s could attack the capital of the bolsheviks which is Moscow and losing Moscow to the white army would be a heavy blow to the Bolshevik revolutionaries and taking Moscow would decrease moral and if any large cities are taken like St. Petersburg which was also in Bolshevik control strikes would break out as a result of heavy defeats leading to the bolsheviks led out of power. However in real life Tsaritsyn fell to the red army and the remaining white army around Tsaritsyn had to retreat to crimea and were then evacuated. History would have changed a lot for russia if that one large city of Tsaritsyn was held then Russian history would change a lot.

    For all your dislike of the Bolshovick goverment of the Soviet Union (looking through the comments). They formed Russia into a super power from what was arguably a agrarian economy !
    In addition the red army under Zhukov, tukhachevsky (yes I know he is dead by ww2 but his deep battle doctrine lived on), rokossovsky and Chuikov manged to stem the tied of the german invasion of both the USSR and Poland. so The red army is the strongest and is the army of the people !

      The Soviet leadership had no regard for their citizen's lifes, they just cared about their goal, and nothing more. Millions died in the 1922 famines, holodomor and the redistribution of land to form communal farms, in which they barely had anything to eat and ended up starving to death.

    • @magicalmagnus2
      @magicalmagnus2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imberus5801 that is true but your confusing soveit leadership with Stalin's leadership. The USSR under Stalins leadership specifically had little interest in human life, and was more concerned with the wealthfare of the state.
      Post-stalin soviet leadership had a much greater interest in the wellbeing of the soviet ciziten and there living standards, virgin lands campgin and krushvska housing plans are 2 great examples. I think your hatred of the USSR is justified to a certain extent however you are assuming that the leader of stalin existed through out the entire soviet unions history which is untrue.

    • @imberus5801
      @imberus5801 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@magicalmagnus2 Well yeah, post-Stalin leadership wasn't as bad, though the cheap urban housing projects led to the awful desolate Soviet blocks of today. Not to mention the little interested in preserving architecture and culture. Just as an example, the Soviets wanted to tear down the Capital of Lithuania's historical centre.

    • @quentin8585
      @quentin8585 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Soviet Union was a fucking joke, there is no agrarian superpower myth, every puppet of the USSR deeply depending on it found itself unorganized and not prepared for a world's economy which led to a very hard time. Russia itself today still has some issues due to the terrible policy of the leftist government, it is the only european major nation that still has some denutrition issues. Communism implies a close economic sphere which cannot survive without a major nation leading it and it didn't, doesn't and will never work.
