I have Ketu in 1 and over time I've realized how much this placement has impacted my life. When I get into a certain 'detached' mode it feels wild and almost psychotic. Like being an alien 😂

You are absolutely right at the beginning of my Ketu Mahadasha my entire life seemed to be on an upswing. I moved to a new country, was pursuing studies that would lead to a "great" career path and found a new partner. And it's almost like everything reached a peak about 2 years in and since then I've been slowly being stripped of what I thought I had acquired in the beginning of this period. Thank you for your insights.
I have 4 more years of Mercury Dasha. And its in Ashwini, so its basically been a 13 year Ketu dasha 😂 And after Mercury comes my ACTUAL Ketu dasha. But that’s in Dhanistha (Capricorn), so hopefully it has a different flavor to it lol

But in general
The effects of ketu can be more sudden in nature
Basically the same, to detach & not expect. Be in the present. Right?

Its preceded by a mercury period
But at the end of the mercury period, the last sub period is always saturn
