The classes last around 50 minutes and there tend to be two "recreos" after each pair of classes. In my time of school these were scheduled around 8:20 am (meant for breakfast if you didn't have it at home) and one around 10:30 am (usually for a little snack). Most of the kids like to play soccer or something like that on the recess, but some like me used to spend time with friends or just to rest a little bit before next class. For your kids: You're doing great. It may seem difficult now but I know you'll achieve victory.
Awww I wish I could be there to teach your children basic spanish and get them ready at least for school basics. Hi! I'm sure They are doing a great effort to try to understand Spanish, and they will need to study on their own, Spanish lessons so they can grasp more and more. It may be tough at the beginning, but since they're young, they can learn pretty quick. I'm Salvadorean, and live in Virginia, USA, since 1992, but I used to teach English, as a part time, at the Salvadorean Cultural Center, near Metro Center, San Salvador, and the goal was to teach students to listen, and to develop their understanding by doing practices, essays, conversations among students, etc. Little by little, they will develop the phase of 'listening and comprehension', but it's always good to reinforce their learning by studying some grammatical structures and vocabulary. They're doing a great Job! I'm subscribed to your channel, and it's very interesting how you guys are adopting a new culture. Good luck! Hernan Molina
Interesting to see the way your kids get integrated into de public school system in El Salvador. Thanks for choosing El Salvador, I’m Salvadoran-Canadian and I see the way newcomers are integrated in the public school system in the province of Quebec is quite different!
Dear mommy, in El Salvador the students stand on line every morning before getting in the classroom for the morning greetings with the principal and at mondays the students do respect to the flag, after that the kids march to their classroom. The recreos (recess) are used to play and to eat too. They will not leave their classroom (only for gym class) The teachers will came to teach at the same room.

Recess in El Salvador would be called RECREO (rre·kre-o ) Lunch = Almuerzo (Almorzar= to eat lunch) which roughly translates to recreation, as in recreational activities. I hope they can learn Spanish fast. That will make things a lot easier. I've taught my little one a pretty good amount of spanish in 1 months, to where she can make sentences like "El gato es blanco" or "Yo quiero beber agua", "El tigre corre rapido" "Necesito el baño". We first focused on building up her vocabulary: All the basic colors, numbers 1-20, like 15 animals, types of transportation, 10 fruits, 10 vegetales, verbs (running, eating, sleeping) adjectives like: fast, slow, fat, thin, tall, short, happy, sad. She learned "I, you, they, we". Basically with this amount of knowledge they will get a bit of confidence to be able to speak basic Spanish sentences, and they can build on that. I made little cards or use a white board. We do about 20 minutes per day every day. I hope that helps.
We did a lot of that in homeschooling from October until December, we did daily Spanish lessons and little quizzes with the basics. They will learn much faster now.

I am at the school for a meeting now and to get the uniforms for my daughter. It is definitely an experience, the parking lot park really needs to be addressed. I got some footage so I will be doing a video on it.
A great way to understand Spanish is by buying the new Translator earbuds which translate instantly without delays! That might be good for them to understand what they are saying yet it might not be a focusing tool for learning or understanding the direct words from the Teacher! Other than that just try to speak to your children a bit of Español at home! and give them basic understanding of how it might help them! Saludos guys!
@V.E.R.O. with technology developing as fast at it is being implemented that might work to ones favor or not! But yeah you might be right about that though!
Besides uploading the content to social media, this could be a great ‘reality show’, Because is real! Contact any tv station and with a good production your family experiences living and adapting to a new life in our country, could be a hit! Can be good for you guys and improve the image of our country. Think about it. Good luck and enjoy the life in our country.

No I am sure most schools are government built, although Aaron Murphy is building a school. The government plans to fix over 5000 public schools in the country but the principal says he has heard nothing ha timeline of when this school will be on this list. So in the meantime we are trying to crowd fund some necessary improvements as well as some upgrades. I spent the last two mornings at the school and I did a lot of video to share with you guys.
They're popular because they're from another country and speak a different language. People from Mexico, Colombia or Brasil would get a similar reaction.

That's so exciting, I could advise your kids not to get frustrated if is hard to understand Spanish, it will take some time, but for sure at the end of this year they will be speaking Spanish fluently 😊
I don't think they will get too frustrated. My son sent me a picture today of the whiteboard, the teacher wrote the notes in English as well, what an amazing school, we are so blessed!
We lined up before we go into class room 😅students just don’t go in as if they are animals ok. El Salvador got disciplined in that sense. Good luck kids
Despite you could choose a Bilingual Private School you decided to try our public schools, solely that is a challenge, I can't even imaging how you guys feeling but that will be for sure the most accurate-real El Salvador experience, if you adapt to it I can def say you're Salvadoran already if you can't adapt I won't blame you but still respect your courage for trying it. Best vibes for you all.
I think that would be a hindrance. Immersion is the best way, they'll pick it up quickly.
@V.E.R.O. with technology developing as fast at it is being implemented that might work to ones favor or not! But yeah you might be right about that though!
What part of Canada are you from
We moved from Ontario but I am from Nova Scotia.
Interesting idea!
Someone else equated us to the Kardasians lol😂, I have never ever watched them.
The Good thing about Salvadoran education is that there will not be WOKE stuff in schools.
Nice
Oooohh, get ready for all the fun homework and endless hours of studying. My private school in El Salvador gave crazy amounts of homework back when I was in school. And guys, not even university here in Texas had that much work involved haha
👋💯👌
Same thing happened with my daughter in usa she speaks Spanish she doesn't understand that much English we are planning to move to el salvador after 20 year I been here

Question. Are the parents the ones to build the schools or fix it, etc?
No I am sure most schools are government built, although Aaron Murphy is building a school. The government plans to fix over 5000 public schools in the country but the principal says he has heard nothing ha timeline of when this school will be on this list. So in the meantime we are trying to crowd fund some necessary improvements as well as some upgrades. I spent the last two mornings at the school and I did a lot of video to share with you guys.
They're popular because they're from another country and speak a different language. People from Mexico, Colombia or Brasil would get a similar reaction.
I would recommend checking out the american school or the British school in San salvador. They have a fully bilingual education.
Sorry I am not interested in those schools.
Understandable!
