  • I took Elin to Stanmore Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital for a pre-op assessment ahead of her upcoming hip surgery. These are the things we discussed and the outcome.
I wanted to talk about Elin's seizures, her bad reaction to general anaesthesia, the possibility for the hospital to support a blended diet, how to manage her pain post-op and what the current covid protocol for parent stays is. They covered things like a central line for CPN, complete perenteral nutrition, and epidural for post-op pain management.
I'm a special needs mom in the UK getting through life one coffee at a time, documenting life with two daughters, one of whom is severely disabled. Elin is a girl with cerebral palsy, she has a feeding tube, is a wheelchair user and as she can't use the toilet independently she is in a nappy / diaper.
Elin has complex medical needs and seizure disorder. She has tonic clonic, or grand mal seizures, partial focal seizures and absence seizures. She is on multiple medications every day.
On this channel I share our day to day life, our routines, feeding techniques, how Elin communicates, etc. I also showcase the relationship between Elin and her sister Alice and how I manage this by myself.
