For as long as I can remember, even with the MR 63 stock, the speed was always reduced. What you are missing in this video is at the 8:48 mark is where you will see a lighted "08" pass by your vision, that is the switch track joining the Yellow line with the Orange line between Berri-UQAM & Champ-des-Mars stations which can be seen from the Berri station on the Cote-Vertu platform..
Yeah that tunnel is very interesting! Apparently this line, the Yellow Line, is always manually driven. Yes, I love that tunnel. It's always cool to see trains go and out.
Spkeaking about the trains being crowded during the F1 weekend, or during festivals, I went to EXPO 67 as a teenager, the Metro was busy for six months handling a good portion of the 52 millon visitors.
Oh I can imagine. Expo 67 was such an amazing experience based on the images and videos I've seen, including ones you've sent me. What a time it was to be alive.
EXPO 67 was a once in a lifetime experience for sure ! Mayor Jean Drapeau had the knack of being his city's #1 promoter, the 1976 Olympic Summer Games did saddle Montrealers with a huge debt to pay off. I suppose the Olympic Stadium will ultimately become Montreal's Eiffel Tower. When I've walked by it all I see is concrete everywhere,yuck....
@@GeorgeAdams-GA1953 By the way, do you have Discord George? It's a place where people chat about transit and whatnot. If you're interested, I can send you the link
The reason why the train was going slow was due to the driver being slow, and because they can only drive them in manual mode. They are not allowed to use the automatic train control system on that line

Pour moi, prolonger la ligne Jaune au sud est prioritaire sur le REM de l'est.

@@GeorgeAdams-GA1953 I admit I'm one of the few that actually like the design of it. Maybe I've just come to accept the look of it haha.

I've never heard of it. There must be some very spirited conversations.
