CZ 75 PCR: The compact Czechnology

  • Some notes on the video: there is no compact B CZ, it is only referred to as the compact model while the decocker model is the CZ-75 D compact model. I never did a range report but instead I just gave yall extra shooting footage. Apologies on the blurry range footage, the lighting in the range was not the best for filming and the focus was wack so in the future I will do better. And at the range, I was so focused on getting good footage that, my form was a bit off and I did not give the gun a good grip so what you see might not be the best representation on the recoil impulse but the gun definitely recoils a lot lighter than what I show, I know I have a couple of youtube shorts that will show a better example of how this gun will actually recoil with good form. Hopefully yall enjoy the video, it was a bit longer than I wanted it to be (a lot longer) but I wanted to be as informative as possible and I would really appreciate if you watch the video all the way through!

After buying and selling a dozen guns that I thought were perfect for carry (M&P shield, Glock 19, Walther PPQ/PPS, Kahr, Springfield XD, HK P2000), the CZ 75 PCR was the best choice for me. Like you, I prefer aluminum-alloy pistols that are DA/SA. They handle recoil much better than their plastic counterparts and are more fun to shoot. The PCR is the do everything gun: conceal carry, home defense, range toy). Great video!

A little concerning the store gave you the wrong gun, but you ended up with what I think is the best looking and one of the most interesting CZ75s, the one the Czech police themselves wanted.

I agreed, although I would put the PO1 right next to it. Got both and they're my prized possessions.

Great job on the review. Very thorough and informative. I own a number of firearms and I just picked up my first CZ. Upon completing my research and testing, the CZ P-75D Compact PCR was without a doubt the model I wanted. So, in my humble opinion, the gun store's error in delivering the wrong model to you turned out to be very fortunate for you indeed. This model is an excellent choice in my opinion because of its versatility and reliability in form, function, and performance. I also appreciate the interesting historical aspects of this particular model. I hope you are still enjoying your P-75D PCR and rest assured you came out ahead on your first purchase. Thanks again for your review and the interesting insight surrounding your first purchase. Like me, I think we all can't help but reminisce about our first when hearing you tell us of yours. 👍

I love my CZ PCR but it is a little heavy for EDC. I use it primarily for home defense. It is a pleasure to shoot, accurate and reliable. Never had a malfunction.

Great job on your review. Recently purchased this exact model because I wanted an all metal frame with a de-cocker. Plan to use my PCR as a do everything back up to my other pistols.

You did well to get the PCR in my opinion, also remember when if ever you holster, thumb on the back of hammer as you holster if it moves at all, stop and assess as something is pulling the trigger, likely caught on something. Decocker is vastly superior in my opinion to safety. Aluminum ammo can be trash as you mentioned I've seen factory aluminum fail to meet IPSC power factor which by specs it should have. Id recommend LOK grips as they are just sexy, and better grip than stock imo. I also recommend aluminum base plates for the mecgar, I've broken a few, aluminum is a bit heavier but look better and extremely durable. When loading your mag press your thumb holding the mag on the base of cartridge and press down, will make it easier to top up. I'd replace the firing pin retaining pin as it uses a roll pin* with a cajun gun works steel pin. Also consider the armory craft flat trigger, and as it's description should mention Cajun has a nice reach reduction kit that works with it as well.

I really enjoyed hearing your take on this pistol. I'm almost fifty years old, and my first pistol purchase was a Tanfoglio Witness, which was a European American Arms import of a copy of a predecessor to this gun. That was back in the very early 1990's. My friend still has that gun.
Your comment on the Jericho was spot on for someone your age, and it made me realize how similar this gun is to Spike's heater. Loved Cowboy Bebop, and I absolutely loved hearing you mention it.
I'm carrying a 2016 sample of this gun currently. I'm enjoying it more than the Glocks that have carried. The Glocks are still in standard rotation for our family tool kit.
You've got a lot of amazing insight. Not just for someone your age, but for anyone of any age. This was one of the best videos I've seen on this pistol, or any pistol. Ever. Period.
Great job, fantastic video, I REALLY appreciate your effort here, and I sincerely thank you for sharing this.
      Fantastic.
Please aquire more firearms and do this to them. I will watch every one of them.

@@wallclock4648 if you want a short answer, its an amazing gun but maybe not the most beginner friendly, the slide is small/ hard to grab onto, weighs a bit more than a glock because of the aluminum frame, mags/ parts may be more expensive than glock stuff and depending on your size, may imprint a lot for carrying with the fat grips but its an amazing shooter and one of my favorites, if you can get past all that, its a really fantastic gun

@@blackdragonvarietyshow3739 I get it. I mean you pretty much sold me with this video. I’m most likely gonna get the 19 after this one anyways so I can own both instead of regretting not buying the other. And yes I want an all around gun for carry, home defense, range, etc. I’ll just have to get used to carrying with the extra weight lol, I just can’t get used to the grip on the glock 19 as it feels like I’m holding on to a short slab of 2x4. Anyways I’ll check out ur other video and you did one of the best explanations and overview of the cz, thanks for everything

Do you carry this gun or just use it as home defense? If so, how would you rate it out of 10 as a carry gun? Unfortunately as a shooter who prefers DA/SA, there's not too many options for us anymore it seems.

    • @blackdragonvarietyshow3739

For both, its pretty good 8/10, solid gun, reliable, good capacity, low recoil, the only thing I’d ding it on are the weight and the thin slide but with the right rig, It’d be a good carry gun
