Instead of dropping CW silver earn why don't they buff the silver earn rate in WW2
Because that won't earn WG any money! 🤑
Overall i find that they are generous enough with all the premium tanks they give away that earn 150% , the extra silver on CW was to get players to try it out and now that it is taken away both modes will earn you about the same.

Yeah I don't find it too excessive you're taking advantage of free boosters and playing reasonably well. Earning 1 million in an hour or two isn't all that difficult with a premium vehicle.
I have no desire to progress through a tech tree in Coldwar so this changes nothing. I only play it for silver

@@jiggadaboom I can't speak for anyone else, but as for me, I'm not gonna stop playing WOTC completely. I'm just not gonna bother with CW anymore. I never liked CW due to its arcade nature; no skill and no strategic planning or tactical execution required: simply dash all over the map and auto-aim everything in sight! I only used CW as a bank with an open vault to "earn" Silver to use in WW2 mode anyway, and now, there's not even a reason for me to do that anymore.

With all due respect, I seriously don’t understand why you are saying the silver earn nerf is acceptable, justifying it by saying it makes WW2 premiums not worth it for earning silver. Even with WW2 premium tanks, the silver earning rate in WW2 is absolutely unacceptable. The only reason myself and a bunch of my buddies even bothered with WW2 is because we could play Cold War to earn silver for WW2. And none of us are new players, been playing since the game came out on 360, started playing more heavily with the release of Cold War.

F2P here and silver ear rates are atrocious in WW2 especially tier 8 up to 10 and getting silver especially for equipment is alone another story, so far last week i have been doing a bit of cold war for silver and it is amazing because i can actually buy equipment for tanks i was never able to put equipment on due to silver gain being BS i had saved up to 12 mill this week and on tuesday wheb they reduced prices i went crazy, i waited a few days just to get the E 50 M for 2 mill cheaper and i bought equipment for a good 7 tanks all and i got about the tier 10s camos and everything leaving me with about 1.5 mill silver left and now im trying to get the 60TP so i need silver for that for the future so hearing this i now have to stop grinding for it and try to get as much silver as possible

This is stupid asf let's make it take less silver and xp to get to the next but let us make the players earn less money which in turn is going to take about the same amount of time. Yep another kick for veteran players. I look at it as a purge of old players just like 6.0 did. I've seen a lot of the cc's say it's not so bad but it is. No point in grinding any tech tree when there are so many prem op tanks in the game and when WG will just release another op premium next week
You'll still have a net positive for both silver and xp even with earn rates reducing due to the profitiability of cold war being better than ww2 and that the prices are in the same region as ww2. I think the intention is to make cold war progression the same as ww2.

i stopped playing tanks on pc when they did the huge arty nerf in 2015ish then thankfully warships came out shortly after that. Id not played tanks since then.
I switched to legends in 2020 when i needed something to play during the bs lockdowns and my pc had died a couple years before. Ive got a friend who plays tanks on console and ive looked into it but tbh I have to ask myself if I want to go through a 4th iteration of a weegee game. Listening to this Im thinking not.
So a 30% increase in price for repair kits. They need to drop the price of kits by 50% full stop. 600 for basic, 5k for premium kits. They are fun gameplay items and shouldn’t be a means to make you earn nothing each match.
Same for ammo and any consumable. Those need a massive price reduction as well.
By lowering the earn rates they removed the only reason i played Cold War. How about removing the stupid rocket launching tanks that are worse than Arty
100% agree and the tanks that do 900+ damage while having armor you can’t pen as they sit out there in the open not even bother to use cover
As someone who is lucky enough to own all the era 3 tanks, im quite happy that I will now be able to rebuy the era 1 and 2 tanks at a reduced cost.
Flat w o never thought of it that way an I got one more lie. To do that is the bradley so I can get that line done quicker and cheaper. Unless that new cold war line they said that’s coming next season is really cool in that case I will just grind that 1 instead
This is a step in the right direction but the biggest problem I’ve ran into is still untouched. OP tanks! Even with the reductions at 500xp or less per match it’s going to take months to get through 1 line. Maybe era 2 is better idk. But with 4-5 FV4005 nuking my tank from across the map. I have 1700Hp instantly dropped to just over 500 in one hit. Immediately Followed up by another tank hitting me and I’m out of the match. Finishing with a whooping 249xp. And don’t get me started on the object 477
This! Era 3 is literally unplayable due to the Obj. 477A. Matter of fact, 3 of my friends flat out quit playing the game and stated they would not return due to WG allowing a tank like that to remain in the game the way it is. And don’t get me started on the Wiesel. Although at least the Wiesel is able to be damaged.

I agree, Era one is amazing fun, but the bigger problem is the Fv4005, it's as annoying as it was in ww2 but when you're in a tank like the T-44 it sucks, as it essentially feels like a tier 8
Era 3 definitely needs some changes as it's almost unplayable with the 477as and Wiesel's running around. The imbalance of the tanks is super high
Imo as a WW2 player, i do not like this change and will now have zero reason to play CW. We will see how many players drop for CW all together now.

What about repairs an d shells? With less silver will this mean you lose an arm and a leg if you lose in a top tier match as you do with tier ten ww2.meaning you will be more likely to play lower tier cw and ww2 so as not to lose thousands of silver every time you lose?

They will do this big update but they won't put brand new maps played almost a hundred thousand games honestly the games never been so boring to me they bring out new old maps and then play them over and over and over and over
So I sell all my CW tech tree tanks before the update and then buy them back after the update at the reduced rate😊
This could work but depends on the percentages. if the new cost is less than 50% of the current it could be worth but make sure to factor in the 50% cost of demounting any equipment when thinking about this.
Might not.. in ww2 you sell a t10 at 3.5m then they do the t10 sake they still cost 4.25m

As regards the chieftain TD at least it was built as a prototype when Britain and Germany were looking at casemated tanks as a purely defensive and cost cutting idea during the cold war.

What about repairs to the tanks? The cost of repairing and blown up bottom tier tank is about ten thousand. Plus add the cost of modules a player would lose silver to play.
Well, no offense but I don't play Cold War. I have so many premium tanks that they'd given to us over the past 3 years. Not sure why anyone would bother to grind anything. what I really want are more actual new maps in World War 2. Bringing back maps that I played on 8 years ago is nice but a little lackluster.. It would be nice to get to play those big maps that they teased us with years ago that are on cold war. Thanks for the update brother. I appreciate you.
Thank you and yes primarily big changes for how cold war plays which wont affect everyone. But should be good for actual cold war players

Grinding is like doing time...seems like you'll never get out! I made the mistake of grinding 90% of WW2 and Cold War all at once. While I'm nearing most tier 10's on WW2 and Cold War, I'm battle weary. I've never been so silver broke in my life and I'm retired! The fun factor is to me is less about a ton of silver as opposed to grinding endlessly on low battle tier without top equipment unlocks. That's NOT fun and I'm tired of getting the top gun right before I'd have to grind another 150-300XP for the next tank. I'd be so pissed and so silver poor that I'd have to sell the fully upgraded tank to get the next tank.
just keep the gems. Stuff like the t67 and t29, the ones that are fun and make silver. Don't be that guy whos allways one step away. Take a step back and enjoy what you've earned allready.
I'm never grinding nothing ever again in Cold War just playing it for silver so it hurts me wish they left it alone so I could keep my silver up and play World War II

This might be a nice change but i still think theyre missing some kf the bigger problems such as crappy RNG (a top tier heavy shouldn't bounch the backside or side of a bottom tier light for example), bad match makine (especially WW2 tier 6 and 8), not evening out teams ( 3 to 5 deathbarns in CW and none on the other team is ridiculous). These are just a few but are the big ones imo.
On one hand, this is a fantastic change for newer players, and anyone who wants to get out of Era 1 without burning XP boosters or having to wait for events. On the other hand, it's gonna be a LOT easier for people to acquire the FV4005 in CW... People are bitching because they want to have their cake and eat it too in regards to the silver, but at the end of the day, WW2 premiums are going to be worth buying again, player retention will improve, silver with interest will still make CW very profitable, and it's almost inarguably an improvement for the game, especially the change to the top gun and linear progression.
So here is what they REALLY learned...players go to Cold War to earn silver to buy tanks and equipment in WWII. That means a lot fewer players in Cold War at length compared to WWII. They tried to bring players in with offering the Weasel again. It must not have made enough $$. So now they are redoing the silver earn making it not worth it.

Definitely a net positive IMO... yes, the silver nerf kinda stings a little, but the offset with the HUGE reductions in silver and XP costs more than balances it out. Sneaky best improvement is fixing that whole "unlocking the top gun AFTER you unlock the next tank" thing, lol...
Alos, it looks like theres nothing stopping you from selling your TT tanks before the next update drops, then buying them back afterwards at the reduced cost. Turn yourself a nice little profit, and that one time boost will last awhile cause eveything is gonna be WAY less expensive 😅

Eclipse, great video! I understand that Wargaming/WOT is a business and must make money to survive. Okay so they are making it cheaper and easier for "new" players. They still need to make money somewhere. So where are the other costs to play the game? I have a problem with the equipment purchase system. For instance, you buy a new camo scheme and you have it for the entire time you own the vehicle and even if you sell it and buy it back, there it is. You buy a camo net, decide that you want to try something else and you switch to some other equipment. If you want to put the camo net on again, you must pay again. Why? I already own it. I believe that in the past 3 years I have likely spent more on equipment switches at the upper level than on module upgrades.
Camo net and binoculars used to be demountable for free, so buy one set and use on all tanks was the done thing. I guess thats why they were removed or changed.
But your right, if you buy something for a tank then that tank should have the choice to demount or sell, not be forced to sell for half silver every time.
Now I just wish I bought the hydra when it was tank of the month
The changes concerning the silver for the cold War, are very very welcomed.. what about the maps for cold War? We are playing the same maps Again and again... I miss the maps of WW2 but I can't play it anymore..
Hopefully we'll see some maps come as I assume this has been priority recently!

Does anyone know if there is any news regarding Tank Nerfs? If they want to improve game experience for cold war players ... they really need to be looking at that.
It’s too hard to earn decent Silver, for the vast majority of players, on tiers 7-10 on WWII. Cutting Silver costs on CW, that finance most player’s WWII experience, will push players to low tiered games only. Also, NO one will grind stock CW tanks until the OP mess gets sorted… just too painful, might get there quicker i.e. less pain but still painful. Solution was to up the silver rate in WWII and reduce the xp grind in CW. Shame, missed opportunity and Eclipse? Think you’re great and have learned a lot from you, so thank you. I think you’re wrong about this though and see even more players leaving because of it. Such a shame. Most comments from your followers concur. Please rethink your take on this. Much respect.
Your point on tiers 7-10 is valid. But tbh, if someone can't afford to play those tiers without abusing the silver earn rates in CW then maybe they should stick to the low tiers until they learn how to pen a shot without gold rounds.

You will not make silver unless you have an eclipse type capability but even he looses money at these tiers judging from his replays. Being top 3 and losing 10’s of thousands is just not cricket. As eclipse has said the economy of WWII is nuts.

Shooting only or mostly gold will only pad your stats not your wallet.
Personally i think the WW2 economy is very balanced in so much as unless your personal performance in a battle sucks big time or you spam gold you should make silver.
That being the case those players who learn the game and perform well will make the most silver. Those who yolo or camp at the back or spam gold will be punished by losing silver.

Super heavies and Avres then need to be taken out at distance to allow you to target specific points. In a firefight we’re mostly all firing Gold. No, they needed to up the Silver rates in WWII. In 2024 has CW got a 'progression dilemma'? On the one hand its been referred to by WG as Tier 11 and up. On the other hand it is a DeFacto 'Tier 3' as new players are directed to Era 1 to start PVP battles. Tier 11 silver, XP, costs should be higher than Tier 10 and Era 3 the most expensive of all Tiers/Eras. I assume that WG made up the current CW system to mimic a continuation from WWII Tier 10. But its difficult to mimic a progression as Era 1 is both Tier 11 (higher everything) and Tier 3 (lower everything). The new changes seem to indicate WG still don't have CW sorted out.

I actually like the changes. The final gun of a tech tree tank costs 1.9 million silver to upgrade. That’s too much in my opinion.

Some players including myself are probably gonna sell all pur CW tech tree tanks and buy them back after the update to get a ton of silver. I think it's a good idea if these numbers are true and buy the tanks back cheaper than b4 while also making a profit. 😏🤑

Good change. I am a WW2 player and just grinding silver in Cold War. I briefly tried to grin one line but it was going to be to time consuming based on module/upgrading costs so I have not even grinded one tank so far. This could help players try it out more.
I think this is the intention, I am very similar to you and this will allow me to test it out some more and not have to spend a tonne of silver to try it out until much later on.
Since they like comparing the ww2 line to the cw line, they might also go for making other characteristics like true vision and spotting the same since newcomers will get confused going between 2 modes, so making them similar would be good there so there is little differences between them.
I agree true vision should be on ww2 because it works great in CW
@sunnydevilliers6767 Unfortunately, I think you got it the wrong way round. I meant that cw to not have true vision as it will confuse newbies. Also with true vision, kinda makes concealment and view range pointless if you see always. Can anyone confirm this that the tutorial missions where you play a cw tank don't have true vision on them or not?

I switched to cw because ww2 is hard to get silver losing silver with a win in top7. So in my opinion ww2 should just increase the amount of silver that your awarded instead of bringing noodles to cw by reducing prices . In cw I never had a problem with silver but ww2 its hard just to go positive in silver with a win. Wargaming should just fix the "RNG" that isn't right but more like gambling right where the dealer always wins. Meaning the the RNG doesn't allow you to have to many wins by fixing teams. I'm sick of losing where I'm top of the losing team where half my team has no points for anything . And that's my rant lol👍👍
As the game at all levels has become a lemming train at almost all tiers especially era three , some of the game play at hi tier is laughable , the lack of teamwork communication is ridiculous these days and what ever wargaming do never seems to motivate good team play and tactics which is a shame.

I welcome the changes. Im guilty of farming silver in CW to fund WW2 tech tree. One module in CW costs as much as some WW2 tanks….close the loophole and hope the wot economy improves. Thanks, cheers

No matter if its good change or bad change. One thing i know for sure this silver earning reduction will cut the CW playerbase by half! Watch! Its a no brainer. Most players ran CW in their premium tanks for the silver not the tech tree rate.

It seems to be a matter of opinion and personal preference at this point, and likely will be until the changes are implemented and players have had an opportunity to see how those changes affect them personally.
For me, CW has always been merely a cash cow for accumulating Silver quickly without working at it or even needing to think, as CW is about as "arcade" as a game can be.
BUT... it is nice that WG have at least given us a fair warning *BEFORE* making such dramatic changes... unlike the debacle they caused when the rolled out the infamous Update 6.0 . . . *that* was an unmitigated disaster by any measure, and it came without any warning whatsoever!
For me, the bottom line is this: World of Tanks is WG's intellectual property; they own the game, and can legally do whatever they wish to the game. And we, the players, have every right to either play the game or not, as we see fit.
So... good or bad, these changes *are* coming. We'll see what happens.

games on ww2 for tank tier is soooooo unevenly matched i used to like playing ww2 now i turnt my back on it its soooo rubbish gone down hill cold war is ok but need to move couple of tanks from era 1 to 2 if not then nerf em down for instance fv4005 move to era 2 or nerf em to drop shot hp up the reload time by 10secs fv101 and fv107 move to ww2 its ridiculous that a light tank can take out a heavy medium and tank destroyer out completly in real life this tank would not be able to do this kind of damage as for new update i would just lower xp down to get tanks not silver

I think it’ll probably discourage new players tbh. Because let’s face it, all the established players now have accounts with 100’s of millions of silver already and just spam prem rounds because it costs them nothing. New players will not be able to afford to do that and will not only be learning the game, but also be disadvantaged by being dominated by experienced players firing prem at them. That could be fixed if they just reversed the option to buy prem with silver and make it gold ammo exclusively, but that has its own issues…
This is Probaly why I’m taking so much more damage than the enemy tanks I’m up against. I didn’t think that many players would be spamming 5000 silver per shot

Only thing that used to stop people from running premium ammo full time is that most people simply couldn’t afford to do it. That’s no longer the case and it’s gonna be horrible for the new player experience. But they created a monster and now it’s gonna be hard to fix…

Just like this game has become, stupid and boring.
Drop the Cold War mode and introduce tiers 11-15 (for example). Also stop making tier 9 tanks and above purchasable. This way, *_genuine_* tier 10 players can pit their skills against some serious competition. Maximum of one light tank, one SPG and one 152mm gun per game. Also, more bushes. This is how I feel the game can be improved.

Premiums tanks don’t have upgradable modules. War gaming made their premiums top of every teir so what does the silver even mater honestly. For war gaming gold is king buy more gold right away lmao. They should be putting all their efforts into making tech tree tanks useful. It sucks grinding a tech tier tank while getting low exp because everyone else is playing premium tanks and why shouldn’t they better tank right from the start with no grind….. they should make the premium better then tech tree tanks but only if you spend the time to grind the premium tank to get its best modules that would at least make me less bitter as I get to clobber the gold tanks that are grinding for better modules just like they are clobber me

The -56% silver means that cool premium that makes 200-300k no booster makes at best 92-135k now its a huge loss per match even if things are cheaper i never paid for module uogrades i just fired gold and used boosters as urbwas more time and cost effective and still will be for me so changes make ni useful difference era 3 has not become 56% cheaper so you lose more money with this update and honestly ill probably leave ti wartgunder permanently if this happens as its a huge ammount good i wasted on prem CW tanks even over Christmas alone

I mean complaining that your not getting millions of silver a game to play ww2 with is a non starter. Literally. Cold war broke the ww2 economy and it's good that it won't be again. It's not like it's impossible to earn silver anymore since all the ops season passes, premium time, free premiums they give out. If you play CW this is literally a net benefit. You spend way less silver and time to complete tech trees.
They want to make it better stop making op rocket tanks..... Stop making op premium tanks top tier. Game was amazing when tier 8 was the best a wallet warrior could get.
Earn rates may ruin cold war. You can't earn in WW2 unless you are the 1% so next game rip WoT

Eclipse, I personally do find you annoying to listen to. Your obviously knowledgeable on the game but your additional ad lib comments just repeat what you have read, at least once but often several times. This makes a 15 min video last 37 mins. Please replay your video and listen, objectively.

It doesn't fix the silver problem in ww2. No so bad as broken. Cw doesn't need a reduction in costs but they do it to justify a silver nerf. It takes me longer in ww2 to progress than cw because of the lack of silver in ww2.
I like all the video's and appreciate the information by the way nothing against you. Wargaming just make me pissted sometimes. You have even admitted you farm silver for ww2 in cw so cw isn't the problem ww2 in in the silver rates. All my opinion in which I primarily play cw now due to silver and arties back in the day.
Of course we're slowly getting to the crux of the matter and the sooner WOT admit they should never of created a split from WW11 rather than flogging a dead horse the better 😂

The total incompetence of players within the game, playing on the Play Station Platform that seem to not know how to play the game; or are just toxic.
Every time I get pushed out of a Sniping Position, watch 3 and 4 Heavy Tanks Sniping on a hill, Heavy Tanks pulling up beside a Stealthy TD and shooting… and the TD gets hit..because the Heavy is detected and the TD was not, Heavy tanks Base Camping…it is ALWAYS a Play Station Player. 💯
I’m not sure if this is US Server Issue, but it has gotten REALLY bad since the Thanksgiving Holiday. 💯

I’ve been featured on TH-cam Contributor Channels, and basically have seen it all.
This may be a USA issue, I’m am unsure of other servers, and yes XBOX players are just as guilty; but I’ve seen a majority of Play Station in the instances described. 💯

Agree, it is garbage. It feels like pure arcade mode especially with so many Wiesels driving around. A complete waste of resources. We need new maps more than anything.

The whole game needs revamping imo, after 9 years it’s been something to do but after this season I’m through. Poetic justice?
