Thank you for adding us to your new backpacking gear for 2024. Feel the breeze, not the burden!

Great new gear Dave! Always fun to see someone’s more gear. I’ve had those meals. They were really good. Only drawback for me was you have to cook them in your pot. But otherwise really great. The tent looks awesome! All great choices! 👍

Thanks Dan! 🙌 Looking forward to testing the meals as there's not a ton of options for us low-carbers

Fascinated by the aftermarket backpacking frame. That thing could be a gamechanger. But it also is funny that we are now trying to find ways to add better frames to backpacks after trying to get rid of them the last 20 years. haha! Great one, Dave. Looking forward to your 2024 vids!

🤣 ikr!? I got it moreso as a potential comfort thing while still being UL. Not super hopeful but will see how it goes 🤞 Thanks bud!

You called it. The external frame is making a comeback! We are introducing 21st-century technology to make our external frame ultralight and flexible. We've had many customers use the same words: game changer. As we like to say, feel the breeze, not the burden.

Always fun to get new gear. I've heard mixed reviews on the meals. Can't wait to hear how the frame works out.

Interesting. That aftermarket frame might be a game changer for us senior hikers. Oh, I won a Flextail pump in a Christmas giveaway and looking forward to testing it out soon. Have fun with your Zpacks Solo regardless of what others might say. Haters gonna hate. lol.

Yeah I'm testing the frame out more for comfort of the pack then for airflow so we'll see. Gl with the pump! I wouldn't say no to free either 😝 Yup, they gonna hate but that deal was too good to pass up. Thanks Jerry!

I think there is a market of dyneema stuff sack for those ultralight backpack hangers when not in use

Does the external frame rub your back? Zpacks Backpacks give me that shoulder pain as well. Look forward to your review on the food. what pot are you going to use to cook the food? You need to try a HMG pack! Nice tent!

Will take some convincing for me to try HMG anything bud. The frame goes right up on your back so i'm assuming some rubbing occurs, haven't tried it in the field yet. Was thinking Toaks for the food but titanium will prob be a bad idea so will now switch to my Jetboil Stash, thanks for the tip!

I'll keep on using the carry handle on my Atom Pack to hang from a hook. BTW, that Indiegogo for the Flextail Zero in Oct. was a bust. Never shipped mine, filed a dispute with my CC for a credit.

That sucks about the pump. I finally got mine end of December after ordering it in September. I was fairly irritated…good luck either way your dispute.

Great video Dave! The hangers look cool but I’ve just been using a regular flocked hanger and I put 2 packs on it back to back using the top handle.
Those meals look tasty. Let me know how they are.
Get yourself a ULA pack and get rid of the rest 😂

had to do the same thing with indiegogo. went ahead and ordered from flextail and it shipped within a week.

Ok, Dave, the only RightonTrek meal I can recommend is Chicken Alfredo Pasta. It's barely acceptable.

Thanks for the insight John 👍 I've heard good things about the Mac n' Cheese too. Have you tried that one?

No, I didn't try. I was to disappointed to that one.
