Here in Switzerland for example it's also fairly common ro eat horse meat. Most grocery stores have a small selection of horse meat and it's delicious.
While I wouldn't personally try Shirako, I don't find its concept all that different from, say, testicles or even the more common fish eggs. It's just another quirky delicacy in some cultures... Heck, we even have arguably gross raw meat vendors in Italy too lol

Horse meat is not uncommon to find in Japan. I've always seen it at Izakaya (Japanese pubs), though. I fairly regularly go to one in Ikebukuro that has horse meat as their specialty, and honestly, it's pretty good.
Here where I live we used almost every part in animals, meat, bones, intestine, skin, brain, everything. I used to like eating goats balls when I was little, I don't remember the taste but yeah...
I imagine the only reason people don't like is because they get squeemish of the concept, rather than anything to do with the taste. A lot of people also don't really like things with creamy or squishy texture. Some people definitely do like shirako, i mean its sold in restaurants and dishes in japan and i doubt they do it jsut to get a rise out of people. tbh i don't think its much wierder than eating unfertilized eggs which is extremely normalised, but i dont think i would like the texture personally.
When it comes to holocure, i'd definitely put Irys in the meta category, while she's not the best coin farming option as of 0.6 she can still get close to Azki, Irys and Risu are about equal, however out of those 3, Irys is the tankiest imo, azki has decent crowd control, and Risu also has some crowd control but she's much more of a glass cannon. when it comes to time attack meta, it think Suisei or miko are the main ones. for survival meta i know Fauna is one of the best, Fauna and Sana are probably the easiest to get the couch potato achievement with, Fauna can tank it quite easily, I'm sure very good bullet hell and RTS (like starcraft) players could make Shion an absolute bullet dodging machine.
I say the point I saw anime go full on mainstream was one punch man, that was when everyone around me was now talking about anime and watching it and stuff. before that it was vilified. As someone who have eaten Shirako (Milt, or Fish sperm sac, usually from Cod) IMO it taste good. Although personally i cant eat this raw, but on a stew or steamed its good. Yeah, its a delicacy in Japan/Korea.
Honestly, I don't blame Japanese Vtubers like Miko and Mio when they mispronounce English words like "Hide" or "Take". For the simple reason that Japanese characters, whether they're romaji, katakana or hiragana, have very consistent pronunciation. It's not like English where one letter can be pronounced a hundred different ways depending on the word or sentence structure. As such if you don't know English well you're just gonna default to pronouncing the words the way you would in your own language. Besides, most native English speakers can't pronounce simple Japanese words like anime and manga so we don't exactly have room to judge.

My understanding is, and I'm just spitballing, that in america if you had access to a horse, it was either a pet or a work animal. Back in the day, I'd imagine some would butcher them when it was their time to go, but for the most part, eating your horse was a sign you were up shit's creek without a paddle since it was probably one of the last things you'd wanna do considering how useful horses are otherwise
In some states it's illegal to butcher and sell horse meat. Horses in America are still used for various reasons such as leisure, horse shows, ranching/farming and rodeos. Rodeos are a very popular form of entertainment in the American southwest. America is also home to the Amish which abandon technology completely or partially as well as other worldly possessions and use horses to draw thier buggies and perform other farm tasks.

I've also tried horse meat, served raw. It's abit on the more expensive side and is served raw like a sashimi. Texture like tuna but taste like salmon, wasn't gamey

Horse meat is not uncommon to find in Japan. I've always seen it at Izakaya (Japanese pubs), though. I fairly regularly go to one in Ikebukuro that has horse meat as their specialty, and honestly, it's pretty good.

I imagine the only reason people don't like is because they get squeemish of the concept, rather than anything to do with the taste. A lot of people also don't really like things with creamy or squishy texture. Some people definitely do like shirako, i mean its sold in restaurants and dishes in japan and i doubt they do it jsut to get a rise out of people.
tbh i don't think its much wierder than eating unfertilized eggs which is extremely normalised, but i dont think i would like the texture personally.
Meh, it's not bad, but not my thing. It's much better as an additive to something than by itself.
When it comes to holocure, i'd definitely put Irys in the meta category, while she's not the best coin farming option as of 0.6 she can still get close to Azki, Irys and Risu are about equal, however out of those 3, Irys is the tankiest imo, azki has decent crowd control, and Risu also has some crowd control but she's much more of a glass cannon. when it comes to time attack meta, it think Suisei or miko are the main ones. for survival meta i know Fauna is one of the best, Fauna and Sana are probably the easiest to get the couch potato achievement with, Fauna can tank it quite easily, I'm sure very good bullet hell and RTS (like starcraft) players could make Shion an absolute bullet dodging machine.
I say the point I saw anime go full on mainstream was one punch man, that was when everyone around me was now talking about anime and watching it and stuff. before that it was vilified. "oh is that the one where they have blush lines on their nose" was something I remember from secondary school, a quip that was as stupid as it sounds
As someone who have eaten Shirako (Milt, or Fish sperm sac, usually from Cod) IMO it taste good. Although personally i cant eat this raw, but on a stew or steamed its good. Yeah, its a delicacy in Japan/Korea.

Honestly, I don't blame Japanese Vtubers like Miko and Mio when they mispronounce English words like "Hide" or "Take". For the simple reason that Japanese characters, whether they're romaji, katakana or hiragana, have very consistent pronunciation. It's not like English where one letter can be pronounced a hundred different ways depending on the word or sentence structure. As such if you don't know English well you're just gonna default to pronouncing the words the way you would in your own language.
Besides, most native English speakers can't pronounce simple Japanese words like anime and manga so we don't exactly have room to judge.

My understanding is, and I'm just spitballing, that in america if you had access to a horse, it was either a pet or a work animal. Back in the day, I'd imagine some would butcher them when it was their time to go, but for the most part, eating your horse was a sign you were up shit's creek without a paddle since it was probably one of the last things you'd wanna do considering how useful horses are otherwise
In some states it's illegal to butcher and sell horse meat. Horses in America are still used for various reasons such as leisure, horse shows, ranching/farming and rodeos. Rodeos are a very popular form of entertainment in the American southwest. America is also home to the Amish which abandon technology completely or partially as well as other worldly possessions and use horses to draw thier buggies and perform other farm tasks.
