Philippines showed Professionalism and Discipline. As opposed to the other party (really shows difference in character).
Why? Here’s my take.
1. War is expensive and Philippines is a developing nation.
2. Restraint is better and dialogue between 2 countries is better for Philippines.
3. US is obviously not interested to engage because they are currently involved in 6 wars worldwide.
4. US has a larger interest in China economically.
Unless, there’s a real unjustified action, Philippines prefers peace and not war.

On the ladakh border the primary issue is intel on intruding chinese locations.
On our side, the terrain and infra is not such that we can position troops as fast as the chinese.
Once we know where they are coming in, in every instance the PLA gets its 'gol-gappas'...
The PLA does not try these stunts of theirs when they are in inferior or equal numbers.
The real question is, if push comes to shove, will the US put boots on the ground?
Will it provide the Phillipines with unlimited weapons with no bar on striking range?
Or will it be another ukraine where the filipinos get long range missiles but are not allowed to target chinese naval shipyards?
The US is Xi ping pongs biggest trade partner, and should the US manage to wrighle out some trade concessions and more US access to chinese markets will it support the phillipines to the same extent or become obama?😂😂

Will the US get directly involved? That depends on whether a Democrat or Republican is the American president. Biden is on the Chinese payroll and won't act because he doesn't want conflict with China to become an issue in his reelection bid. Trump is the American Lion. China fears him. If Trump was the current president he would have already acted in direct support of the Philippines.

Filipino Seals and not ordinary semi-trained ordinary soldier. The possible plot was to prevent any Filipino activist resistance to a defense agreement between Japan-Philippine that involves Japanese troops in Philippine soil, even if that agreement is just a paper agreement. The event was on video and widely shown in the Philippines for all the (emotional) Filipinos to see.
