I got to ride on the America N10A in Houston when I was 6 Years old.. I sat next to the pilot and he let me "Fly" it.. I helped move the elevator wheel.. LOL.. I'll never forget that flight.. we lived in the daily flight path and I would watch it fly over the house every evening... I would actually call the Blimp Operations Base every day to ask what time it was going to depart.. one day, I got a hold of their PR guy and he asked me if I would like a ride.. i said yes and he said to put my dad on the phone.. they made arraignments and 2 weeks later we both got to ride the Goodyear Blimp.. I'd love to Ride again someday.. there's something very special about the Blimp..
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mike Nerandzic, the Blimp pilot that heroically saved the lives of three just before the crash that claimed his own life.
Thank you very much for a great video... been flying pretty much all my life..all sorts of things..but had no idea how an airship really works... great videao ..THANK YOU :-) 5 stars
The Spirit Crashed and burned Sunday and claimed the life of pilot in Germany, I'm sure you've heard by now Motoman. The Pilot ordered 6 journalist to jump while it was 6 feet from the ground.
MotoMan just moved from 3rd to 2nd of my favorite youtube channels. Keep up the good work and you can kick FastLaneDaily off the thrown with you're next video.
another great episode. MotoMan you might wanna work on your arms next time around to work the wheel if you wanna fly the blimp again. I saw you using both hands.Haha, Im kidding. great job.
hold up nobody has ever died in a Goodyear blimp.. they can travel vast amounts of distances with very little fuel and stay up for over two days.. why are we not using this for public transport???? this is the way to travel overseas in style for cheap I would set one up to carry a ship just in case I had to land the ship in water and deflate it. pull it in
Many reasons. !. most blimps/zepplins use helium, which the earth is already very low on as any helium in the air leaves the planet, and also, goodyears biggest ship only holds at most 14 people
Goodyear Spirit of Safety - Click above to watch the video after the jump The Goodyear blimp "Spirit of Safety" erupted into flames and crashed on Sunday, claiming the life of pilot Michael Nerandzic. According to reports, the vessel began emitting fuel fumes as it came in to land at the Reichelsheim aerodome outside of Friedberg, Germany. Nerandzic ordered his three passengers, all journalists, to jump from the blimp from a height of around six feet.
A blimp from the air. See what it is like from the ground. Majestic.Smooth
Thank you for the ride, guys!

The leather sole express... I hope you didn't get sick on the air ship. Very informative about how the air ship works. Thanks for sharing!
That’s my dad! Chief pilot Mathew St. john!
I got to sit in the right seat of Jim Thiele's Snoopy from American Blimp Corp. Really a thrill. But you got the left seat. I am a little envious.

I like the old blimp like this one with the wheel control the new Rigid airship Goodyear has a joystick not really as cool as the old wheel.
