Piece of Waco Tornado History Discovered

Carolyn King survived the 1953 Tornado while inside of the Joy Theater, next door to the RT Dennis Building. 70 years after the tornado her son, Sean King, discovered that the dinning room table that their family has had since the 60s was from the RT Dennis Furniture Company. That company went out of business due to the death and destruction caused by 1953 tornado. #kwtx #tornado #waco #history #texashistory

My great grandfather was inside RT Dennis building when it collapsed, killing him. 😢

I'm sorry to hear that....I live in waco, my grandfather was in his car on the railroad tracks hiding down in the floorboard....he said his car was lidted off the ground a few times but not a scratch. It's crazy how tornados seems to pick and choose victims.
