Abhishek pushes the boundaries of every major Raga. He is like the tennis champions who hit the ball very close to the line !! At times, you see the chalk powder fly in the air, makes you wonder whether the ball is in or out. He does sail close to the orbit of another Raga, but manages to avoid the gravity waves of the other Raga. That takes a lot of skill.... He is a Vidhwan on that score alone.
Awesome!!! great
what is aalaap??
I believe it is raga Shanmukhapriya, 56th Carnatic melakartha scale. The song I think that follows is Parvati Nayakane Sharanam, which should also be on the TH-cam Channel
'Alapanai' in Tamil means 'demonstration' - here how the raga sounds when the voice and imagination of the Singer puts together the scales and notes of the Ragam with all the 'nelivu' and 'sulivu' (turns and twists). Remarkably, the Singer keeps within the boundary of the Raga. He must make sure he does not hit any scale that belongs to another Ragam. So, it gives 'freedom' with 'duty' and within 'discipline'..... Carnatic Music is a great system for all that.
