    A plane's engines are designed to move it forward at high speed. That makes air flow rapidly over the wings, which throw the air down toward the ground, generating an upward force called lift that overcomes the plane's weight and holds it in the sky. The wings force the air downward and that pushes the plane upward.

    Abq played the one bounce rule this year and it freakin was so fun! It just makes you want to run after everything! However, the surface that we play on would have to be more consistent than park fields if we wanted that to become more of a rule imo

    Interesting to see how this game is still developing not just to be competitive, but to still be a fun sport to play. Hopefully we find a good balance soon that will make it an entertaining sport to stream or broadcast on tv.

  • @jcar12
    @jcar12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Love this! In order for us to advance the game and get it to where it needs to be we all should be testing different rules/variations. Something I thought about was possibly implementing a “single motion” type of rule that eliminates fakes on serves. As much as I and others love getting aces on fakes I truly think it hurts the game. Every other professional sport with serves doesn’t allow them, so why should roundnet? This would make it so serving is only OP is you grind the game to be able to cut/reverse cut, similar to pitching in baseball

    • @jcar12
      @jcar12 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, I love the carry rule but it might be better to limit it to just serve receive. Just my opinion tho

    • @HOWTOROUNDNET
      @HOWTOROUNDNET  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea the no fakes has definitely been talked about before, definitely worth trying. Although even with one arm, people still have reverse and cut… and why not have it be for defense too, more defense = more rallies which is what everyone wants!

    Great advice on serving at the end Ryder, would love to discuss that with you while having a meal in Toulouse, France ! Heard French food is okayish ;)
    Also what do you think of the 2 points win for the receiving team when you double fault ? (Or similar variations)
    We like the idea but with a twist, receiving team can't hit on two, they have to use 3 touches otherwise gentleman serves are too hard to (try) to defend.

    • @HOWTOROUNDNET
      @HOWTOROUNDNET  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would love to discuss while having a meal in France! Also not a huge fan of the two point thing, would make the play of the sport look slow and amateur. If anything the receiving team should ONLY be able to go on two, or even only on one (watch the bloopers). I think hard serving makes the game fast pass and fun to watch. I’d probably still go for both serves cause when if I gentleman’s against good players, it’ll be a put away 95% of the time most likely.

    I would not mind the old ball. The problem is that tournament directors don't invest in old balls. In order for this to be accepted TD's have to invest in a lot more equipment, which is a large barrier

  • @haileebennett3788
    @haileebennett3788 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    As someone who’s played most of my games with the old ball and one tournament with the new ball I think the old ball is definitely better!!
    I also think what he said at the end about the more points being played the better is so true! It’s not nearly as fun when every other serve is an ace or people are calling petty carries! I think these changes are awesome!

    I think that there should be like a 20 foot out of bounce line. When if the hitter hits it off the net and it lands outside the 20 foot line then it should be a fault. This would get defense and more rallies.
    PS it doesn't have to be 20 feet

    • @willy_spikeball
      @willy_spikeball 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We sometimes play with a no drop zone, it is very similar! Tha attack cannot land in the 7 foot serve circle! It makes defense a bit easier

  • @anthonyst-martin_roundnet
    @anthonyst-martin_roundnet 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think those are 3 good changes (old ball, carry on first touch and no toss/hit with the same hand). The ball has less grip so probably a little bit less spin, the carry call on the first touch was just killing the athletic side of the sport and the one hand toss/hit was just adding countless numbers of possibilities to fake and serve. As you mention, I think it's to bring the sport with just a little bit more rallies (8-10% more) without completly changing all the sport. But, I think we need to keep those aces going but just a little bit less, as mentionned in the video: you need to feel your serve PERFECT to get an ace.
    When do the official 2022 rules will be announced? (Hope those 3 changes will be part of the new 2022 rules)?

    I think it would be tough to get the entire roundnet community to get/ use different balls just logistically and for people who aren't at the very top competitively nerfing serves isn't a huge concern. I like the gameplay rules though I've been playing with the first touch carry is legal rule for a while and it is great. Never played with the bounce rule though that would be interesting.

    • @HOWTOROUNDNET
      @HOWTOROUNDNET  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure how it doesn’t work logistically but maybe this is something that is only implemented at the premiere/pro level similar to the NHZ

    How are you going to get people to switch to an old ball that they have to pay for? Unless people are given new balls for free then a lot of people would be quitting. It’s kinda hard to force someone to upgrade their equipment to keep playing. The other rule changes seem more feesible.

  • @BandJProductions1
    @BandJProductions1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My thing is like this was great, but when people get use to it, I assume the same problems would arise...like Ryder wasn’t acing as much but he’s also not as use to the ball, once the top servers practice more with it I have a feeling it’ll get back to that point...with that being said I do like the carry rule Bc that does help more, I just don’t want things to change and then it just goes back to what it is now again with us talking about how can we nerf these guys again next season

    • @BandJProductions1
      @BandJProductions1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like with all due respect if Ryder is still acing at a good rate when he has barely used the ball how good will he be when he practices it with it more...

    • @HOWTOROUNDNET
      @HOWTOROUNDNET  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, I do think people will get used to serving more but imo serve receive will get better too. People are so used to guessing where the ball is going to go whereas with this there is much less guess work.
      Also, I think similar to the addition of the NHZ added last year, this will most likely be a temporary “bandaid” for this year if you will.
      Spikeball May be in the works for big new equipment changes but will most likely not be until 2023…
