That riff they are hitting at the beginning is A Tony Williams Lifetime tune from the 1st record with McLaughlin, Tony, and Larry Young. Then BANG into Terrapin. I could hear it end as I got to my car off the ferry (I had to split for other reasons) Thank you for posting!!!!!
@@bocellisghost9840 here's the original: th-cam.com/video/bmMHckNkJP8/w-d-xo.html This was a bad ass orignal jazz/rock band with new-to-the--scene John Mclaughlin, Larry Young on organ and Tony Williams drums/leader. Wicked album. Very aggressive, Like JRAD!! THey used to air radio broadcasts of performances 20 years ago at the fest, but no longer, so I am GLAD you kept recording!!
So freaking cool to have Branford play with Russo and the boys. Thanks for uploading! New port jazz fest has for years had the best line up for music fests - Newport folk a close second
Absolutely! Seen some great musicians and shows over the years but this set yesterday was probably the most enjoyable set I've been to, including 90's Dead Shows, other than a Spectrum show. Maybe. Branford is a legend and fit perfectly with these guys. What an evening! Dead still changing/improving lives!
