I love Genos. In some ways he's still a child. He's trying SO HARD to be the best hero he can be. Constantly self-aware, intensely professional, and constantly ready to heroically sacrifice himself. Low-key his backstory is especially horrifying when you realize the cyborg doctor cut off EVERYTHING BUT HIS BRAIN when he was 15. Sort of implies the horrific attack of the rampaging cyborg badguy- as well as his incredible determination.

Just few things to add here, first of OPM is not a Shonen anime (manga) but it's rather a seinen anime (manga) and yeah it's true that OPM makes fun of a lot of anime series whether they were shonen or seinen it's just the way this show is. Another thing is that you always wondered why Saitama is not employed yet, now if you remember in episode one Saitama was looking for a decent job and since he has a college degree he was looking to get employed at any company (just like the rest of us irl) and to his bad luck no one was accepting him, of course they interviewed him and they probably didn't find him fit for the job he is seeking for (it's mainly because of his characteristics in my opinion) and that when the story continues and he meet with this crab monster 🦀. But don't lose hope as he will get what you are wondering about if he will ever be employed or not in the next episode 🙂
