I completely missed those in my research, somehow. Not sure if they just weren't on the site that compiled his work, or I neglected them. Thanks for the info, I'll be listening to them asap.
Im so surprised on how much this man is not talked about, great video man rilly loved it!! ive been listening to his works ever since i watched hajime no ippo for the first time , it was great to get to know more about the man and being introduced to some other works of his.
Tsuneo Imahori is just incredible as well, I heard God Says I Can’t Dance first and immediately felt the weight of what they were trying to do within free jazz. Hearing what the band was trying to capture with their sound makes a lot of sense, I wasn’t aware of Unbeltipo but that’s a rabbit hole I plan on going down soon lol. Tipographica sounds like the process of reincarnation to me- they break down just as much as they build, and they build until that process has become an automatic creative force which is too unstable to last. It’s really the most amazing music I’ve ever heard, they go beyond anything I ever thought possible and have provided me with a lifetime amount of inspiration all on their own.
Unbeltipo is so incredible I feel invigorated simply hearing the group mentioned in a video lol; NO ONE talks about them despite their hefty dense output that is so overshadowing in iconic quality even within the scene. Tipographica is obviously just as incredible with even more color but seems rather well known by comparison, at least in japan.
This is a cool video, not something I expected to see! Aside from being a member of Seatbelts, Imahori worked on a very large number of Yoko Kanno's soundtracks (to the point where I'd say he's her main guitarist and integral to the sound of any song of hers featuring electric or acoustic guitar) which is where he exhibits some of his best playing in my opinion. It also surprised me a little bit to hear he'd been in a band with Naruyoshi Kikuchi, who is perhaps best known in anime circles for his Gundam Thunderbolt soundtrack. In hindsight, it makes perfect sense given the grit and free jazz sensibility expressed in Gundam Thunderbolt, which is not that far from Imahori's work in tone.
5:35 Speaking of people that were as much enigmas as they were geniuses, oh my gosh it’s Ryuichiro Senoo!! (May he rest in peace😔) What is the song that is playing at this point in the video?
You never mentioned his TWO Albums with Tatsuya Yoshida 'Territory' & 'Dots' this is the BEST of Tsuneo Imahori

Great video, exactly what I searched for after realizing Tsuneo Imahori is the man who created my favorite soundtracks in Anime.

Good stuff. Hajime no Ippo OST still best- “Who’s Calling”
One note I have is, that he also did the soundtracks to Gungrave VR (2018) as well as Gungrave Overdose.
My idea, or no mention of hajime no ippo sountrack
取り上げてくれてありがとう。
