Sai is one of the most sought after gay dancers in Tokyo, Japan. He invited me to his place and also to follow him at one of his shifts to see what the nightlife scene is really like in Tokyo, Japan. This was my experience.

My god that man is beautiful, what a hypnotic smile he has and personality, wow. I think this is one of my favorite interviews yet
How this chanel has not hit million subs yet is beyond me. Matt, you are an amazing interviewer, and such a kind, compassionate, and empathetic person, and also hella cute
I agree it's nuts to me that Matt hasn't blasted past a million awhile ago. It makes me think they definitely are not promoting his content.
It could possibly be because he tends to center around "sex workers." Or more mature topics. Idk 🤷🏽♂️
Sai is so well spoken and I felt so bad for what he experienced in his family, but glad they resolved things. My family was very accepting of my sexuality but then again I was never a go go dancer. :)
I found myself extra interested in this interview because it was fascinating to learn about Sai, his story, and how this all fits (or doesn't fit) within the Japanese culture.
Matt, I really enjoy you and your interviews. You really have the knack of getting people to open up and talk. You are truly a remarkable person. Keep up the good work.
LOVE THIS!! Sai is a GREAT human being! So glad to see him be showcased like this!! Sending love from Birmingham!
Thank you for shining light on our community! ✨️💖
I love your almost innocent way of interacting with people, dear Matt. I send you much love and blessings from Pakistan.
OMG, Sai is so cute! Once again, another amazing video!
Japan be like "homosexuality is a foreign concept" while having historic paintings of men having full intercourse... What is foreign is the hate toward homosexuality in asian cultures, but they accepted this influence and normalized it.
They do have a LGBT pride march in Tokyo every year though so things are slowly improving.
Just because they historic paintings and art stuff, of like male geisha, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s always been accepted. Of course the idea has always existed, they just don’t encourage it or they tolerate it instead.
@@foxella13 although they are coming around more and more even some of the older generations are starting to come around. You wouldn't really think so but South Korea even struggles with LGBT people, which is odd because they created the entire like "pretty boy" wearing makeup industry lol
@@foxella13 As it turns out, pre-modern Japan was exceptionally accepting, even encouraging, of male homosexuality and bisexuality. Google "Gay Samurai" and you will see a link for a site called Tofugu that has all this info.
@@foxella13 you are confusing terms here. I didn't talk about "acceptance", I talked about HATE. Hate towards homosexuals is very new in far east asian cultures, because it primarily comes from western influence, specifically cultures influenced by abrahamic religions.
Example, in imperial China, it was tolerated and then came things like Jesuits missionaries trying to influence the court to change their ways. Since the chinese empire wanted to have good relations with european courts for commerce, they acepted these missionaries influence so they could speak good of them.
Those "paintings" and "art stuff" meant it was tolerated. The more influence they accepted from europe, the less of this art kept appearing and the more hateful the society turned against gays. Far east asian cultures the focus is in the family and descendants, so as long as you fulfilled your duty to your family, many things were tolerated. The western influence shifted this focus and by that, created hate.
That was one of your best interviews! Awesome work Matt!!!!!
I love how ur always down for a good time and so respectful to every community you visit.
Another great interview Matt. Sai is freaking adorable 👏🏾😃❤️🌈
Thank you!! I love him, the nicest person ever ❤️
uh oh... the fetishizers are incoming.
I met Sai in Tokyo and took my picture with him years ago. Looking even better now!!
@irememberla6460 how funny that you now see him in a youtube video. 🎶It's a small world after all🎵😛
@DanielleFoster. yes and at the time I spoke to him in Japanese, not knowing he was so fluent in English!!
I just want to know why is the gay voice international 😂
It's called being feminine.
I have a feeling he picked up on some of that while he was in the US. It's just a guess though.
I think it's a nature thing it's like a signal to attach other men
😂😂😂
Even in Ghana(country in Africa), which is a homophobic country I noticed the ’gay voice’ at a young age😅
Matt, this was a great vid. I really appreciate the way that you are able to connect with people and make them feel comfortable talking to you.
Sponsored!!🎉🎊 I'm living for the regular content! Thank you!! 💚💚
Tots adorbs! Tokyo is so much fun! I can't believe they allowed you to film inside the GOGO bar, they must really like Sai.
It's so cool to see you in Japan!
Wow Matt, you dropped another banger! It was such a pleasure to learn more about Sai and the differences in Japanese gay culture. He's sooo well-spoken and handsome. 😍
I discover so much goodness in this world, thanks to your channel. I love you Matty!❤
So good to see Sai and gogo dancers in Japan on this channel!
Such a respectful country and people, wonderful video 🌻
Matt does the best interviews!!!
Love your content Matt. You tackle it well. Always learn something new.
The thumbnail 😍
Matt, you remind of the old school news commentator Charles Kurwalt. Like you, he travelled all over the place to present interesting human interest stories.
And Matt also allows his humanity to shine through every interview. Matt has a true inner beauty that I wish all humans had.
I go into interviews like this ready to cringe. Many interviewers are … unskilled, let’s say. You asked some good, serious questions and gave him a chance to speak. Thanks!
The gorgeous guy you spoke to whose name sounded like "Nao-to"... I could fall in love with him. What a gorgeous guy.
Aww I wanted to give him a hug when hearing about the story in Alabama :( saw in his face he needed one ❤❤😢
Sai is CUTE! 🥰🥰
They're all so handsome
Whewww these guys are FIIINEEEE❤
Thanks for giving us these amazing 🤩 interviews.
Sai is drop dead gorgeous!! So lucky to meet him at the pool party at bangkok white party❤
He's so humble and handsome at the same time. This was an amazing video.
Matt: this is a great video. So great. Good work as always!!
I love how disarming your presence is when u talk to people. Conversation seems to flow so naturally for u.
> thanks Matt - very sensitive interview - also i enjoy your enthusiastic discovery of Tokyo, and Nichome in particular - i have very similar euphoria there - will make my 3rd visit to Tokyo in April - x Jackson (WeHo) ~
Great interview❤❤❤
What a great interview. A peek into other gay cultures! And Sai is a dreamboat. I’m sorry that his American story includes racism but glad he came out of it with such a great spirit! Much respect for him and you as an interviewer!
Great interview , Sai is a very sweet guy , thank you Matt for giving us a small peek into the Japanese culture
Matt love this interview...I am Filipino born and raised here in the states. Maybe you could do a future show on racism and homophonic experiences by gay Asians some day? Would love to watch that. ❤
Subbed! Great interview :)))) Nice to get to know Sai more :)
The " dragon man' shirt has me crushing.
Love this interview ❤.
Sai's English is excellent! How did he become so fluent (even living in Alabama for ten years is no guarantee that someone would reach Sai's level) And how could he have PAST boyfriends? (Note the plural.) The road to true love is obviously not so easy, even for someone like Sai.
Former model here. Good looks actually make it harder to find a partner. Guys prejudge you all the way. Guys just want to use you for bragging rights, eye candy, or as a trophy boyfriend. Guys think you are a sex worker and not relationship material. And the list goes on and on of judgements. It took me over a decade to find a husband, and that was only because I was done modeling and looked less like a model and more like a regular guy. I'm sure Sai is experiencing the same thing and wish him luck in life and love.
@@Nightbird.please people throw the word model around when it usually means an unusual look and not actual attractive.
@@Nightbird. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Most people probably assume that it must be really easy for models, dancers, etc to find long-term partners, but as you point out, it is not all plain sailing even for them. They also have a lot to contend with. Congratulations on finding the person who understands your heart and wants to share life with you!
@ Thanks so much! I hope you are happy as well and found someone to share your rich life with too. Take care! 🥰
Thanks for the great video. I am not gay but I like finding out about other communities because there is always something to learn from. I think they may have legalised gay marriage in Thailand very very recently.
Yeah right 😅😅😅
Matt, I love you. You are so kind and compassionate.
Sai is so beautiful. His moustche and goatee make me wonder if he has some Ainu ancestry. What a dynamite combination!😊
Sai is gorgeous!!! ♥️
I want to go to Japan!! There are so many hidden subcultures!
Atp i WAIT for your video drops
“how long have you been dancing for?” Just shows you that interviewing is a skill that only a few possess.
I don't understand? It's an obvious question that a baby would ask. I felt he could have gone deeper in places.
Very lovely boys. I appreciate the episode. Thanks!
Wow Sai is really lovely. ❤
it's great that Sai did not ruin his natural beauty with tattoos
Came here looking for Usak but stayed for Sai!!!!
When I tell you I cried 😭 omg 🫂♥️
Sai is a very likable, articulate and balanced individual. I am glad Sai moved to Japan, especially with the MAGA red hats taking control of the USA.
This is a great episode.
I did text therapy through TalkSpace. Texting my therapist whenever I wanted was so much better than once a month or week sessions.
So glad his family are back in his life.
Seeing what is happening in the United States today, I am happy to know that he is safe in Japan.
I'm loving this trip to Japan. Looking forward to Thailand.
This dancer is verrrry cute!
I love them so kind 😔💞
Hey, Matt.. I know she already had so much exposure but do you mind interviewing a queen like Jujubee to learn of her experience being an Asian drag queen in the US? How she used to have a lot of hate and how things slowly change for Asian queens. After all, she’s been around for some time and surely she went through the time when people used to freely call Asian drag queens with various slurs. Thank RuPaul for the exposure for Asian queens but they weren’t always well accepted and appreciated even during the early times of the shows, with the exception of Raja Gemini. Asian queens were sort of fillers even though they work just as hard if not harder to be accepted by the crowd. Hope you’ll consider interviewing an experienced Asian queen soon.
sai is gorgeous ❤😍🔥
Thank you Matt i enjoyed all of your interviews, very nice looking men, so polite and genuine❣️ Aloha from Hawaii 🌺🌈🌴🤙
A thoughtful and interesting interview. The racism he endured was dreadful. Thank you for this insightful yt video.
Thanks....I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada...and it is so exciting to learn about other countries and LGBTQ2S. Myself I am an Indigneous Two-Spirit (2S)....
I love learning the differences in gay culture in All the places you go too. Its just so interesting. I also Love Japan and want to vidit there ro bad so knowing more about the lifestyle there means alot.
Go vidit Ireland Im curious what its like there because they are such a Christian based culture religiously.
Nice interview very enjoyable
I wonder what comes after in such conservative culture as Japan, what is their next setp but I guess that is the question we should all. ask ourselves. thank you for showing this segment so nicely done, can't wait for my trip
Sai is such a handsome man ❤
Love this so amazing
YAYY thank you ❤️
I swear I kept thinking my windows computer had an error . That sound at the background
The Boyfriend is a good show on netflix
What's the reason for not having TWO mics for interviews? Seems so odd to only use ONE and have to pass it back and forth. 🤔🤔🤔
Respectfully, Matt, a TON of research also indicates effective counseling relationships are often hampered by racial issues of either the therapist, the client or both. Sai is a great feature. So thoughtful, chill and well-spoken.
Very true ❤❤❤
Adding Tokyo to my to go list for 2025.
it's impressive that sai is also into mathematics
tbh theyre kind ❤
Sai is so cute!
Do they all speak English? The first guy has no accent. Oh, he spent 10 years in the US. That's why he's so fluent. Racism is so stupid. We're all just people; I don't know why people have to be so ignorant and hateful.
I need to go there!!!
First 👏🏼
MATT PLEASE HAVE THE PEOPLE YOU ARE INTERVIEWING, THEIR OWN MIKE!!
Matt stay focused! Yes, honey, we know he’s fine lol!!
They're sooo handsome.. why can't California be like this 😅☯️💟🏳️🌈
He is handsome, hot, well spoken. Love him!!!
I know it doesn't help much and i'm sorry But i'm all for you guys i love each and everyone of you LBGTQ people ♥♥ My Daugther is part of your group♥
Dang, lovely guys
Matt, im happy your dating sloan.
Is Sai adopted. He said his parents had southern Christian faith ways.
Years ago i was at a music convention in Miami. We went to a gay club. They had gay guys dancing on risers and in cages. Some wore clothes others skimpy stuff. I didnt think they were side pieces.
What a great interview. What's Sai's instagram page?
Saitokyo22
Get job with the interview!
May i ask why you played korean music at 10:23?
surprised how beefy they are. great interviews
is sloan the camera man ?!
