The way every diet on earth works is eat less, move more. If you want to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit, whether you accomplish that by some form of fasting, or by working out more and burning more calories, if you want to lose weight you NEED to be in a calorie deficit. Last year I was given an ADHD medication that has a lack of cravings as a side-effect. I noticed when I'd have a beer or soda with dinner, most times I wouldn't finish it. I also noticed that in the first 3 months I was taking it, I lost over 20 pounds. After that, I leveled off and didn't lose any more weight and in the year since, I've kept it off. I don't know to what extent to credit the medication because that was also part of a broader effort to making sure I was doing the right things for my health, which included lots of small changes to my diet and more thoughtful portion sizes, which I've mostly kept up. I'm so frustrated about the whole Ozempic situation, though. Someone should be in prison for the way the drug was marketed and the resultant shortage. My partner has had to fight to keep his Ozempic and Jardiance covered by insurance, which he takes for Type II diabetes.
Oh and also…they’re mocking it and making fun of it I do not think they’re making it out to be a commercial by any means. I feel like you’re putting your own pre conceived notions in front of this episode and taking things the wrong way…
It’s more so that you should slowly stop eating junk food and slowly changing your diet so you can adapt healthier. He literally said in the video. He also never said that this was suppose to be serious but it is a serious topic that South Park has opened
Nah you can eat less and still like shit and lose weight prime example the pedo of subway. Healthy food helps and introducing it slowly does as well but you just do that while eating less. In general it's better to eat whole foods for health overall but weight loss specifically is eat less move more and if you want it to be faster lift weights as muscle burns more calories
Some of this dude's takes are very good, but then sometimes he misses the point completely:D Also like he said The drug is FDA approved and even thought it was approved for diabetes and he says "I doubt the rich would inject themselves with unproven substances.) or something along those lines, when the rich literally are will always be the first ones to get every new drug before the consumer gets it. Usually they have commections in big hospitals they do this research at, the rich are the first ones getting to try a new, still risky, still in it's testing phase drug. They are so rich they can be the first ones to try new expiremntal drugs and they do that alot of times, so ALMOST this whole video is just him making strawman arguments, because he missed the point, so he's criticizing something that wasn't the original point hence he's "attacking a strawman".
I'm reminded of something. I used to teach guitar lessons, and I once had a lady come for her first lesson, we got started and after a few minutes she started complaining that her fingers hurt. I told her that it's normal and if she practices every day, just a few minutes at first and a little more each day after about a month she'll start to build up calluses and it won't hurt anymore. We finish the lesson and she leaves, a few minutes later she calls me from the music store asking me what kind of guitar strings she can buy that won't hurt her fingers. I explain to her again that it will just take time, and I even hear the guy at the store tell her the same thing, they do have different kinds of string that might help a little but it's just going to take persistence. She never came back for a second lesson, and she never learned to play the guitar. She didn't even try to do it the right way, she just wanted the quick easy way, and when that wasn't an option she gave up. Don't be like that lady, the only thing stopping you from playing an instrument or losing weight or whatever it is you want to do, is the mindset you have and the choices you make
Your videos are actually wonderful. As someone who's dealing with weight issues and on my own weight loss journey you've educated me on things I had no idea about lol. This is ridiculous. You assert that people cannot possibly have the willpower to save money, eat right, or work out, yet people do this all the time. How is that possible? Also, you can't argue that eating less doesn't work but also that a drug that causes you to eat less makes you lose weight. Ozempic proves that eating less causes weight loss.
Just realized I've officially watched all of your videos at least once, so i felt it was only fair to subscribe. Not enough people focus on the lessons SP actually has between the messed up jokes. Keep up the good work
*Those of us who remember Woodsy Owl* also remember how it was in the 1970s and even the 1960s. Food was expensive in relation to the overall household budget, and frankly, not as common. It wasn't will power back then, we ate what we could get, but it was a matter of what we could get. If I wanted fish, I had to go fishing. If I wanted something veggy, I had to go forage. If I wanted to eat dinner and my sisters to eat dinner, I had to find some odd job to do to earn literally a few dollars then we'd agree on what we wanted for dinner and get it and cook it. There was most certainly not an abundance of calories.
I appreciate how you recognize that pressuring people to change is ineffective as opposed to letting the person realize let their behaviors may be unhealthy or destructive and a sign to make the change of the wrong volition.
I have never understood this idea of "It's too hard to have restraint" I am 35 and am the same weight as I was at 21, my clothes from age 21 still fit. I eat healthy and exercise regularly. I am able to enjoy foods like cake, cookies, brownies, pies, donuts, ice cream etc in moderation and eat them until I am full and not stuff myself senseless because "it tastes so good" Every year for Lent I give up chocolate, sugar and sweets and I am able to walk past the sweet aisles and not break out in a cold sweat.

The only way to lose weight is a calorie deficit. And honestly most obesity is a mental problem with a solution which helps both the mind and body, it’s called a third place. Gyms are nice, a good forest or park works too. Just somewhere safe from bad foods and with the ability to encourage movement and peace
There is a difference between in “I’m concerned about your health and weight” and “stop eating that’s why your fat!” Along our middle ground brother “you’re fat and sexy!” The FIRST, should always be said! Obviously there is a time and place to say it, but don’t pressure someone. Just let them know you are worried about them and their health. that is it.
Good Video. It cracks me up how all the sudden The Right calls out body positivity, but when Michelle Obama tried to fight childhood obesity, the Right tells her to shut up, and say she taking away freedom.
"Eat what you want, add what you need." That way you're not completely pushing away the foods you love, but you're still getting the nutrients you need.
Here in germany there are also "fat camps" but they are always part of a rehab center. The patients aren´t just forced to eat less food and work out, but they actually learn to regulate their own calorie intake and output. They learn how to cook, so they can cook healthy food for themself instead of ordering a dozen BigMacs and overall they learn to help themselves out of obesity rather than just forcing them to live healthy for a couple of weeks and than releasing them back to their old lifestyle.
I feel the best way to sum up the weight problem is: it's a marathon, not a race, but everybody on the sideline keeps screaming at you to move faster, get in front of the pack, be first, and keeps calling it a race anyway. I personally am going through weight loss right now, and while I recognize I still have habits to beat, it is absolutely just diet and exercise that helps the most, as I work a job that keeps me walking or doing basic mobility throughout my shift, and I do a low calorie lunch that includes something to keep my cravings down, while not denying myself the occasional large or high calorie meal because I know I will lose the weight in the long run. The only time I would ever recommend any weight loss shortcut is if someone is too heavy to do anything about their situation aside from diet (like being unable to stand let alone walk due to the pressure on the legs).
Well, South Park actually has mentioned Pop-Tarts without a parody, or as you call it, "stand-in" name. Such as when talking about Kenny's poverty lifestyle or general mentions. In real-life, there's also a food similar to Pop-Tarts called "Toast 'Ems".
i don't know man i feel like the episode kinda was aiming to say that the weight loss drug was for obese people, like in the episode itself there's the group of mothers in their 40 that represent those that actually don't need the drug but want or do use it causing the shortage. i don't see the point of saying that they are gloryfing drugs when they say who needs it and who dosen't
there have been many weight loss drugs in the past as well, so ozempic's release doesn't make the concept new, so much as ozempic just being the newest most relevant one now. honestly, the human metabolism is so much more nuanced that a video would have to be far longer than 20 minutes for a worthwhile conversation. there's even still a ton that is still being figured out, especially due to corporate meddling, but that's kinda what the obesity special was mainly about anyway. it's the systems that keep people fat for profit by selling nutrient deficient foods that keep people hungry, while the pharmaceuticals try to sell you a solution.
Yeah, but ozempic is absurdly expensive, in the long run may lead to complications if diet isn't adjusted and even then may still lead to lethal complications, and it may also lead to permanent hormonal issues in which your body cannot create it's own hormone glucagon correctly, in correct amounts, or at all. "Ozempic mimics the hormone glucagon-like peptide 1." In that case now you stuck on an expensive, potentially dangerous drug, for the rest of your life. Fine if your a diabetic using it as a last resort to live a normal life, not so fine in my opinion as someone unwilling to lose weight who take it to lose weight. People who wish to lose weight need to address the underlying cause of their weight gain, metabolic dysfunction. This can be seen as correcting your diet to fix your natural hormones. Hormones that control things like satiety, insulin production, dopamine production, etc. Food is additive, not by themselves, but by the hormonal responses and reactions in the body. It took me 33 years to figure this out, and afterwards I lost half my body weight and am now healthier than I've ever been, I don't crave food, nor let it dictate how i live my life. I eat food to live, I don't live to eat.
Whats so crazy the described effects of Ozempic feels like my entire eating habit. I only eat when my stomach starts howling and outside that never. And even when I do eat I can hardly eat that much. And I'm not on any drugs.
Most of the people I knew growing up who were fat acted like alcoholics but were even more adamant it was fine because it wasn’t literal poison. But remember, you can get water poisoning. These people do need intervention. If your friend was going to jump off a bridge, would you let em?
your content is amazing! i can tell how much work & effort you put into it, which is truly refreshing to see. i appreciate you & your work! greetings from switzerland
Most vids I watched on your south park stuff gives me things to think about. Not this one though, you definitely misinterpreted the message this time. Give it a few rewatches, and think about it some more.
Whoa. And to think I clicked this on the day I decided to start my exercise program. Seriously, being obese is not ok. Being mean to obese people is bad too. Obesity should be approached with compassion, honesty and care. People don't just become fat just as they don't just become alcoholics.
I think this was missed due to personal bias. The special was commenting on how only people who don't need the drastic drugs are the people who can afford them leading to a shortage. And that those who can't afford the competitive markets remain in an uphill battle against unbudging insurrance appeals and influence from consumerism encouraging them to give into their bad habits and fail without the support of the thing they can't afford.
I just changed the diet, and lost the weight in 6 months... It's pain to not eat enough when you are not fat enough. It didn't feel so bad to eat less than about 2k kcals when I was fat, but now it's bit tilting. DIET! just DIET! Plan out something simple, and just do it. Calculate the calories. If there is some space to spare you might plug out something and put in something sweet or so.
totally agree with u. diabetics need to work on their willpower and focus on eating less and working out more. leave the ozempic for us suburban women. 💅
Using that guy who fasted for over a year as an example for why diets don't work is just wrong. He didn't gain back much weight for the rest of his life. That is the most effective fat loss diet btw, just don't eat (wouldn't recommend doing it all in one shot tho).
23:51 I feel like it’s also important to note that drastically changing your diet can sometimes make you gain weight in the beginning as-well because of your bodies starvation response I barley eat yet (I’m also not overweight based on my heath and family history, that’s what my doctor says.) I’m around 160-180 depending on the time of year (middle of summer vs middle of winter my weight changes drastically. I think it’s partially because I work a manual labor job in the summer and got to college in the fall/winter) Also being a few pounds above average isn’t being overweight either humans literally migrated the globe so we are really adaptable and that’s wild!
8:55 I'm using this video as background music while I play games, and most of the screen was red and yellow as you said this...and I'm thinking of going and getting food. My conclusion is this statement checks out.
I got the special as being more of a hit on the US healthcare system and pharmaceutical industry, showing how you can easily make the things they sell for hundreds of dollars for very little money.
I have a nuanced experience with fatloss. I naturally have a good metabolism and have always been athletic. 3 Years ago I got fat for my standards by a lot and then lost it all again. Therefore I've cut weight, gained weight and been born gifted all in 1 life. If you cut calories 300 below what an online calorie calculator assigns to you as a maintenance weight. If youre only goal is loss you could eat only McDonald's and loose weight as long as you're in a calorie deficit. If you want good health and weightloss eat healthy with 1 cheat meal a week and incorporate light low intensity cardio and weight training. Keep youre calories comfortably low and don't go lower than 300. Every human can hold 300 and news flash youre not special and youre weak and that's fine. Don't try to be extra it'll give you cravings, tank youre energy and make you quit just do what you're told and you will loose weight. If you dont you either have an underlying health condition or are lying yo yourself and me about youre deficit
Yeah, and before I fully saw this special, I just assumed that those drugs just made you shed weight rather than literally make you lose your appetite.

I'm so frustrated about the whole Ozempic situation, though. Someone should be in prison for the way the drug was marketed and the resultant shortage. My partner has had to fight to keep his Ozempic and Jardiance covered by insurance, which he takes for Type II diabetes.
my brother takes adhd medication, and since he is already low weight, his doctor tells him to eat more
Obesity ISNT a disease; it's not caused by a contagion. Obesity is a choice
I mean what else is the answer besides eat less and move more?? Obviously the harder thing to do will ALWAYS be the harder thing to do but like…duh
@@Mufkins2 nope just eat less i went from 240 to 160 still eating the same shit it was only when iwas 160 i finally improved my diet.
2 ways.
1. Read the labels and calories
2. Eat less
Even in your past videos you've gone into detail of things in this show I would've never even thought of. I'm looking forward to more of your future content. ♥️
Eat less and move more works! Slowly and steady 1 year gain muscle and lost 15kg
Found your videos today and binged them all. Keep it up bro! Your videos are great!
8:30 That's newton's 1st law of motion you likely learned in Physics class.
14:42 and was Nigeria has taught me is "it is better that way to outlaw compounding", I took a pain med there once, and it DOUBLED my headache, honestly I thought I was going to die.
I didn’t know ozempic was to stop appetite. What happened to good old cocaine?
Bro looked way too deep into the new special
Eating less and moving more is not a fucking superpower. 🤦♂️
Ha! Even the skinnier guy posing at Cartman also still has a second chin! 😂🤣
Keep up the good work
Bro this comedy is actually crazy. You deserve so many more followers for these banger videos
Like actually fr
I love how they just took stan, added a single line for a chin, and changed the colors 🤣
Idk why I enjoy these videos, but I love them. Keep it up, Ceric!
Someone's brain is on a diet.
18:54 wow. You've had a lot of growth in a month. Cheers, stranger! Keep on creating
Watched a few of your videos and it's all really good! I'm looking forward to your growth, keep at it dude!
I am able to enjoy foods like cake, cookies, brownies, pies, donuts, ice cream etc in moderation and eat them until I am full and not stuff myself senseless because "it tastes so good" Every year for Lent I give up chocolate, sugar and sweets and I am able to walk past the sweet aisles and not break out in a cold sweat.
found your channel when you only had 1 sub, happy to say that I'm your second sub. crazy to see that you already passed 100. Your videos are super high quality and entertaining so you're definitely gonna gain more popularity if continue to upload these types of videos, keep it up man!
Appreciate it!
sounds fake af, no real fan gloats about how long they watched someone
This guy missed the entire point of the special and still made a video about it. Thats the level of confidence in myself I hope to have one day 😂
Love these South Park break downs! I can't wait to see your take on "Make Love Not Warcraft" or "The Poor Kid"
Bro missed hard on this one
Can’t wait to see more content man! I’m bummed there’s only 4 vids right now lol.
I've seen a lot of negative comments, so I wanted to spread some positivity. I really like the way you research some extra, but you are wrong on your last take that they showed the drugs in a positive light. Everything else about this vid was great. Keep it up
I’m happy I found your channel in my recommended page
hi!! i just found your channel today but i’ve already watched all of your videos and they’re so good! i’m excited to see where you take this channel 😊
I think someone should remind him his brain is a muscle too
i just figured out that your name is an jumbled word of eric cartman-
BRUH!
Hahaha, do you like it?
@@CericArtman 👍👍👍👍
The only way to lose weight is a calorie deficit. And honestly most obesity is a mental problem with a solution which helps both the mind and body, it’s called a third place. Gyms are nice, a good forest or park works too. Just somewhere safe from bad foods and with the ability to encourage movement and peace
There is a difference between in “I’m concerned about your health and weight” and “stop eating that’s why your fat!” Along our middle ground brother “you’re fat and sexy!”
The FIRST, should always be said! Obviously there is a time and place to say it, but don’t pressure someone. Just let them know you are worried about them and their health. that is it.
I'm really sorry, but which part of "You're gonna end up doing a lot of drugs with a lot of bad people" was pro ozempic?
The "I didn't really pay attention to the episode" part.
Good Video. It cracks me up how all the sudden The Right calls out body positivity, but when Michelle Obama tried to fight childhood obesity, the Right tells her to shut up, and say she taking away freedom.
I'm so glad food like cupcakes have never looked appetizing to me lol
2:30 NOT THE DANCE MOMS CLIP 💀💀
"Eat less and move more doesnt work"
"Diet and exercise is the way to go!"
Today class, we are learning what synonyms are.
"Eat what you want, add what you need."
That way you're not completely pushing away the foods you love, but you're still getting the nutrients you need.
16:25 , I never saw Harley-Davidson and The Marlboro Man movie clips used in video footage for meme stand-ins before.
I absolutely love it!
1:26 love the reference, I actually say that all the time. Also you’ve just earned yourself another subscriber. Keep up the good work man 👍🏼
Well, South Park actually has mentioned Pop-Tarts without a parody, or as you call it, "stand-in" name.
Im only 4 mins in and you made some really good points. Subscribed
Whats really sad is Ozempic cost between $200 to $300 in Canada, so it's $1000 more just south of the border
Unsubscribed. I feel way happier
I truly don't think you're grasping the subtlety of South Park....😅
Most of the people I knew growing up who were fat acted like alcoholics but were even more adamant it was fine because it wasn’t literal poison. But remember, you can get water poisoning. These people do need intervention. If your friend was going to jump off a bridge, would you let em?
your content is amazing! i can tell how much work & effort you put into it, which is truly refreshing to see. i appreciate you & your work!
greetings from switzerland
I dropped 40 pounds by being a calorie deficit for about a half year. It's not a super power. It's just self control, and eating better
Most vids I watched on your south park stuff gives me things to think about. Not this one though, you definitely misinterpreted the message this time. Give it a few rewatches, and think about it some more.
if you keep posting videos this good on a regular basis and you don't have 100k subscribers in a year, then i will literally eat my shorts
Really appreciate you bringing up the negatives of taking ozempic
well diabetics needs to focus on eating less foods that fuck with their blood sugar because it becomes a dangerous cycle.
To make things worse, Ozempic is overcharging Americans. It's only $100 a month in Denmark.
Using that guy who fasted for over a year as an example for why diets don't work is just wrong.
He didn't gain back much weight for the rest of his life. That is the most effective fat loss diet btw, just don't eat (wouldn't recommend doing it all in one shot tho).
23:51 I feel like it’s also important to note that drastically changing your diet can sometimes make you gain weight in the beginning as-well because of your bodies starvation response
I barley eat yet (I’m also not overweight based on my heath and family history, that’s what my doctor says.) I’m around 160-180 depending on the time of year (middle of summer vs middle of winter my weight changes drastically. I think it’s partially because I work a manual labor job in the summer and got to college in the fall/winter)
Also being a few pounds above average isn’t being overweight either humans literally migrated the globe so we are really adaptable and that’s wild!
south park is critiquing every facet of fat and weight loss it’s not a bad take or a bad episode
The truck scene part makes me feel, i wish south park made a southpark gta'ish game
8:55 I'm using this video as background music while I play games, and most of the screen was red and yellow as you said this...and I'm thinking of going and getting food. My conclusion is this statement checks out.
Discipline in truth, I rarely see anyone ever who doesn’t have a bunch of problems that could all be solved by discipline
As a medical interpreter I can confirm, USA medical and insurance system is soooooo fucked up.
as with south park, horrible for south park is usually average for other shows
Yeah, and before I fully saw this special, I just assumed that those drugs just made you shed weight rather than literally make you lose your appetite.
Keep up the good work, you definitely deserve more subs
